    the stranger that yumi "found" almost at her doorstep three days ago was attended to by her and rested in bed all three days.

    he was not young. his hair was growing grey and his face was far from looking boyish.

    yumi walked into the room in the morning and opened the curtains. sun flooded the room with warm golden light, and the wounded stranger stirred, for the first time in 3 days. yumi approached the bed.

    'how are you feeling?' she asked.

    the man half opened his eyes, dazzled by the sunlight.

    'where am i?'

    'you're in archaic laboratory. i'm yumi.'

    the man looked at her struggling to focus.

    half an hour later the man was sitting in his bed, his torso wrapped in bandages that covered the injuries, eating breakfast. yumi was sitting on a chair beside the bed. her eyes fell on his sword.

    'it's enchanted, isn't it?' she asked, trying to strike a conversation.

    'yes. not the best weapon there is but i needed something quickly so i couldn't wait for the magic one to be enchanted, takes too long.'

    'does it take longer?' yumi sounded interested.

    'oh yes. don't know why, but yes, magic type's harder to enchant.'

    'is that right...' murmured yumi more to herself, staring at the weapon, her thoughts trailing away.

    there is a myth that physical type weapons have a higher chance of successful enchantment than magic type ones. so in this experiment i will compare chance rates for both types to see if the myth holds true.

    physical type weapons

    [IMG]

    in one of my recent experiments i enchanted physical type weapons (the relogin myth ), so i will use the results of that experiment in this one. here they are:
    in that test i attempted to enchant 1000 [IMG] amaranthine throwers [focus], which cost me 5003 [IMG] scrolls: enchant weapon (r-grade) (out of them 3000 were used for safe enchantment to +3). in the end i got 525 [IMG] amaranthine throwers [focus] enchanted to +4, 266 to +5, 145 to +6, 46 to +7, 15 to +8, 4 to +9 and only 2 to +10.

    here are the results in a diagram:

    [IMG]

    {tbody}{tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    i also put the data in a table:

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    enchantmentchance+3 - +452,5%+3 -+526,6%+3 - +614,5%+3 - +74,6%+3 - +81,5%+3 - +90,4%+3 - +100,2%
    and here is the success rate for each enchantment stage:

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    stagechance+3 - +452,5%+4 - +550,7%+5 - +654,5%+6 - +731,7%+7 - +832,6%+8 - +926,7%+9 - +1050%
    magic type weapons

    for my comparative test i chose magic type weapons - 1000 [IMG] blessed amaranthine retributers. their enchantment required 4324 [IMG] scrolls: enchant weapon (r-grade) (out of them 3000 were used for safe enchantment to +3). all in all i successfully enchanted 244 items to +4, 60 to +5, 18 to +6, and only 2 to +7. here is a diagram representing the data:

    [IMG]

    {tbody}{tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    here is the same data for magic r-grade weapons in a table:

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    enchantmentchance+3 - +424%+3 - +56%+3 - +61,8%+3 - +70,2%
    and the chance of successful enchantment for each stage:

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    stagechance+3 - +424,4%+4 - +524,5%+5 - +630%+6 - +711,1%
    comparison and conclusion

    in order to compare the chance rates for weapons of different types i suggest we look first at the following diagram:

    [IMG]

    {tbody}{tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    here is the same data in the table below:

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    enchantmentphysicalmagic+3 - +452,5%24,4%+3 - +526,6%6%+3 - +614,5%1,8%+3 - +74,6%0,2%
    and the table representing the success rate for each stage:

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    stagephysicalmagic+3 - +452,5%24,4%+4 - +550,6%24,5%+5 - +654,5%30%+6 - +731,711,1%
    conclusion: the results of my experiment clearly show that magic type weapons have an indeed lower enchantment success rate than physical type weapons.

    yay, you did the test that i requested :d . the developers are so strange making mage weapons almost impossible to enchant.

    maybe people have much more p.def than m.def? magic type skills making much more damage than physical skills. i don't count maxed chars for this theory. but it's totally normal harder to enchant magic weapons.

    but, if i undertood it well, physical weapon is normal and magical weapon is blessed... maybe the difference is not in the type (physical/magical), but in the blessed/normal status...

    i think you have to use same type to compare both weapons; if you have two variants and change both, results can't be compared, i think.

    yes good test but pls use normal retributer. blessed items seem to be enchanted harder than normal.

    still , this is completely crazy, from +3 to +7 only 0.2% chance...this is just omgwtfbbq.from +3 to +15 it should be 0.2%.
    +3 to +7 should be 15-20% especially when we get a nice message when we load the game that only 1 in 3 enchants is a fail.

    98% of those messages are from times before god, where they were true.
    some of them never were true, in any case.
