Suggestion about siege lags

    confirmed. i have ssd, good ram and good internet connection. i also play on sieges with decreased details. guess what? i have 2-20 sec freezes, depending on number of ppl and place (yes, innadril is the worst place with 30 sec freezes, don't ask me why).

    my friend i have ssd with a nice pc (i7 + motherboard from asus - rampage ii + 6 gb ram ddriii 1600 mgh + ati hd 5870 made by asus with 2 gb ram ddr5/512bit bla bla ) and 10 mb/s internet and i have epic lag on siege fild. i belive is about ping betwen my pc and server or server can't handle sending info to all players from the battle. i can bet if i will have a nasa pc or an alien were pc i stil have lag as hel in siege battle.
    innova must solve there problems coz ppl can't enjoi the game coz ppl spend $ on this game not like donations. we both stafs and services like a normal transaction and we got instead epic lag and problems.

    i think server machine not enough to handle that much people also think this graphic engine is too old and weak what causes lags, maybe some code problems etc. i don't think these lags are all personal problems.
    what innova can do only renew the server machine time to time also contact with ncsoft to do something with the codes, engine in any new chronicle or patch.

    ok since i saw the whole thread, and no1 said anything about i will,
    i believe every1 is just whining lag and not seeing that ,but during our last siege on giran i noticed that within the 20-30sec of lag.. there were gaps when even the server frezes(what i mean is that we're not occuring any damage at all even on normal attacks, initiated before we lag ,so conlusion=> the server somehow stops working, had that on 1 private server b4 that and they managed to fix it, no idea what the problem was , but i can ask since i know the owner of that server

    for 50% sure lags come from chronicle - many animations (good that no more so many ripers), faster skills - more soulshots in use, good workin geodata - on full detal look nice etc. but if i turn off many this extra things i see old interlude - wher is not so many things - and wtf still lags!
    the idea to kill lags is easy: we no need new dragons, jews, arms etc. in new chronicle we need new( or old playable engine) wher siege will not be 1 big froze.
    if no new engine we need:
    - have soulshots in use but with 0 animation
    - drop system - if not raid it should come to inventory
    - any raids, events= ceremonys, epics raids, instances should be turn off for siege time it's just 2 hours! - low levels log out go to pub or go farm mobs:)
    ------------innova you have own greate europan server but your programists dont make any one small change to make game more playable this is my opinion and i think its very logical for this who play this game from begining-------

    i dont talk about evidently things like engine:
    developer should make in game:
    options : 1),,interlude engine" 2) ,,new but frozen siege engine" or this game never will back so popular like on start!

    thanks for the suggestions some of you have made. we are looking into the issue and we're trying to narrow down the possible reasons and find out what exactly may be causing the lags.
    we are sorry you have to go through these lags, we hope we'll be able to sort the issue out quite quickly.

    innova are the hosts of lineage2 for europe, we are not the developers, the developers are ncsoft korea only they have control over their game engine etc

    i had no lags this siege. everythink was ok. i bought battleping, but also my mates w/o battleping were ok.

    yesterday i had probably even more terrible lags than on previous sieges . i will put fraps when i come back from work and render it.

    it was much better for me this time, though 2 ppl from my pt had incredible lags.

    please, keep in mind that incredible, yet not massive lags can be caused by your provider issues as well.

    some ppl can have lag cuz of machine and connections, its ok but ncsoft have to change game engine, its so old and they make much game innovations on a old game engine, it cant hold anymore.

    there is only one way to check it eliminated by hardware and internet providers.

    make a program that is capture packets from the rj45 socket output before it goes to the router. it will show you how many packets has been sent form computer at one time. do it in about 100 users during siege and aske them for computer and ethernet card configuration.

    there is a 1.000.000 diferent possibilites to have lags, not scrictly connected with graphic card and procesor.

    fo example there is huge diferent between router and switch, at first look they are the same, works simillar. both can give you internet connection but ! they are not work at same way. switch are more effective, they dont lost packets, router does.

    stability in l2 depends on millions of small data packets and during all way to server and back in 1 sec. some of those packets can be lost.
    if there is 300+ players on siege zone there is really a lot of information to send and recieve in 1 second. some of modems/routers/switch's/ethernet cards cant deal with it. you can have 4 cores 3gb +16gb ram +ssd disc if your ethernet card/modem/router/internet provider got ****ty stability you will have lags in those situations :)

    you can try to disable nicknames,titles,screen informations, animations to lowest details make visibility to verry narrow it could minimalize your computer usage but number of packets to server and from server will be that same all the time becouse server sent allways full data to every single computer in game.

    in my opinion busines network created to provide mmorpg game is perfect to provide stability. what is wrong is ****ty marketing of personal networks in every home.

    every corporation make now hybrids of modem/router with 10/100mbps capacity. 99% of routers works in mixed mode wchich gives you 25 from this capacity. try to log in on the modem and change to g mode only and 100mbps speed. in 90% cases you will have 100% better speed of the internet but only 1% od people will keep stability in good level to play. most of you will have recent dc. dont belive to network card producer :)) realtek is one of most popular and cheap producers of network cards this time with verry low effectivity :)

    network cards made specially for gammers are quite expensive but you will see difference between your realtek/inter/gigabyte network card and gammers card :) it is much difference i promisse :)

    try to run game in your computer with gamers network card produced especially to provide network for gamers and connect to proffesional server network without cheap routers between you and game server if you have acces to any and then compare lags :) i asure you "you wont have any lag :)"
