1. if you are experiencing problems with 4game application:

2. critical errors, that look like this:

insufficient memory.
please check the virtual memory option and avilable hard drive space.
you can check them by going to : control panel->system->advanced->performance->settings->advanced->virtual memory.
at the moment there is no 100% possibility in solving this problem ( ncsoft specialists are working on that ).


3. problem with 4game update :

4. gameguard errors:

we do not use gg. yet it is not deleted from the client but deactivated there. it is activated when he main protection program (frost) cannot make a proper start-up. it might happen due to bad connection, broken files,etc.

try to delete a folder frost from the root folder of the game.
delete files frostupdater.dll, gameshielddll.dll, s_info.ini, gameguard.des from folder system.
and set the client’s checking.


5. cannot resolve host name:

1st option

1. start --> run --> %windir%\system32\drivers\etc
2. open the hosts file with notepad.
3. write in the end of the file the following line: 109.105.153.10 geo.l2.eu
4. check correct time and date in the system.
5. restart your computer and try to log in to the game.

2nd option
use another dns in the connection settings ( or in nic) , for example 8.8.8.8

3d option

check your track up to 109.105.153.10 with the help of the following program winmtr


6. no play button ( like you see over here - http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/7708/l2p.png)

use ccleaner program (free, http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup313.exe) to clean out hr cache of your browser.

 

what about the no video issue ? i have only one computer that works, i use to play on many in different places.
the only one that works is also a desktop that i cant carry around and a vm host...
will there be a fix or xp will no longer be supported ?

its 100 % windows xp. my friend had problem with no video issue. he instal windows 7 and game working. but ofc he need to download game again.

 

numer 2 and especially number 6 didint work for me... at the morning today i had there play button but now i miss it...

 

which means for now that i cant do anything ? and its not my foult ?

 

the same problem on ru. it's fault of nckorea. they have already sent some patch for ru, but it worked not for all players. so we need wait another patch imo.

 

1. botland client works in that same xp. very well actually, i can open more than one.
2. you dont have to redownload. copy the 4game directory and run just the installer again giving the path to the directory where you saved it. after a quick check, it will work.
3. memory leak was always a problem in l2. it was aleviated lately but now the changes are so big that suddenly got worse. it will get better as they plug the biggest holes, lucky we dont need to leave 24/7 shops, my char stayed afk for many hours, almost half a day till crashed in crowded areas, but i had the full 4 gb for it.

so summing this up. wanna play on innova. instal win 7 xd.

 

oh come on and nothing about getting disconected from server all the time /facepalm

 

i only crash because of insufficient memory (memory leak), never got really dc. but i saw this happening on clannies, so i presume it is a problem somewhere, just didnt strike me (yet).

do something about it there are some people harmed by this bug, and there is not a single help from admins, its about time you do something...

 

i think its your routing to the server... i never had a dc only 1 or 2 crit errors...

this app allows your program to use 4gb of ram instead of two, because by default 32bit programs are allowed to use only 2gb, otherwise windows terminates the process. this may or may not help, but knowing how "leaky" l2 client is, there's a high chance that this might fix atleast some of the crashes.

p.s. this app is only useful to the machines that are equiped by 4 or more gb of ram, if you have 2 for instance, using it is totally pointless.

 

gekido, it will not work for l2.exe
the program overwrites the flags in the header of the image (pe-header), thereby changing its crc
frost on the selection server screen controls crc.
after patch the player will not enter the server soon.
best solution - to convince nc to use the /largeaddressaware flag when building a client's binary (l2.exe).

 

no offense fahrenheit but i thought that your team will relase some patch for that errors not solutions from players (that still doesn't help half of them)

 

we are working on them - for i am not technical support and cannot help with problems with the game. that is why we are now in the process of creating a tool of technical support so all issues with the pc or with 4game, etc might go there.

moreover, here users might find solutions of they face the noted issues. treat that with respect.

why are all whining "if u want innova u need win7".. i have win xp 32 bit latest updates and i could play nearly 13 hours without any dc or sth alike.. only thing i had to do is start l2 with a shortcut which i get from process explorer while starting with the "play" button..

 

i installed game 2 times and nothing...still get crit error when i try to run it

 

dont try to "convert" ncsoft west to inova client that lead to many problems. if you already do that remove the entire client and start from beginning.

problem : some times when game crashed you cant click on 4game icon.
solution 1 : open your task manager and kill 4game try process start and start it again
solution 2 : just bookmark the web page and go directly to there not via launcher icon.


problem no video error.
solution : uninstall the launcher uninstall visual c++ libraries restart your computer install the new launcher and again restart your computer. then you can login.

problem frost error
solution : same as above.

for the "no video error" and "frost error" problem the keyword is restart.
