hello, when i have massive pvp or (sometimes happend) oly i have lags 2-3s for skills.even skills are ready cant cast properly.i think thats problem with hardware my pc: amd 600e 2.4ghz 4gb ram ati 5670 hd i see problem with processor, because i got info, that lineage2 is about frequency of processor.then i have quest what is better. amd athlon ii x2 280 (3.6ghz) (if its possible should be best option because waste money is pointless). amd athlon ii x2 370k (4ghz) intel core i3-3250 (3.5ghz) i dont need upgrade for new game, because no time for it, just wanna play more comfortable this game and not everytime lags.
100% true, there are other factors, but if you dont have good cpu it will ****, in mass pvp, always. in general intel beats amd, at same clockspeed, so my recommendation would be intel, if other factors aren't taken into consideration. if you switch to intel you will need a new motherboard at least, also. while with the x2 280 you could probably just get away with replacing the cpu and keep other components. i'm not sure, not a technician, so i have limited knowledge...
reduce your graphics settings and turn off things like shadowing, cloaks, etc. aside from that you cannot do anything to the client or your pc to improve performance.
u need ssd hard drive, motherboard, which support sata iii, processor can be dual core around 3.2 ghz, standart graphic card, 4 gb memorywith frequency 1600 mhz, better 8 gb. this should be enough to play lineage2 without lags, spikes and with decent display limit... actually if u dont have ssd, imo u can have processor from nasa, still not good..
since the client code is 10+ years old there is little chance of ever getting a modern pc to run the game better. when l2 was first developed it was designed to run on a single core processor and that still holds true today, the client uses a single core. so ever if you have a quad core the game won't use more than one core to function so even if you has a nasa type pc it would not do any good. only real option is to get a solid state drive running on a sata 3 controller to speed up load times.
i have ssd disk, there is no problem with loading location etc... so i must make decide if upgrade processor (from 2.4ghz to 3.6ghz) or buy motherboard+ram+cpu(dont know what exactly), some hint?
believe it or not it won't make much difference upgrading your system because you won't get any noticeable performance boost from the game. bottom line is that the client was nit coded to use modern hardware properly. you can own the best pc in the world and it will not help as far as game performance goes. if you are only considering this for l2 then honestly you are just wasting money.
i'm not sure what you're saying here, but as there are people that can play the game fine even in the hardest conditions (sieges with 200 people at same place, check troy's fraps), it's safe to say, indeed there are pcs that have sufficient performance.
no, there is no new code. all nc soft does is add new content and functions to the existing code, the unreal 2.5 engine has not changed since lineage 2 was released in korea back in 2002. lineage 2 and the unreal 2.5 engine relies almost 100% on load times to perform everything from rendering textures to scanning the data files. everything done in this game needs to be "loaded" before being used, which is why solid state drives greatly increase the game performance. older hard drives running at 7500 rpm, or the slower 5200 ones found in most laptops, cause the game to slow because of tons of load times. how do i know this? i am a developer/programmer and worked with unreal and have often pulled the game client apart to see how things work. there are also internal tweaks you can do with the game client if you have the unreal engine development tools; like i do. when i was on ncwest i fixed two of their larger issues; the first was a crash bug when you put on the elven eye patch and the second was making the game able to function under windows 8 when one of their updates made that impossible. of course what i got from them was a forums ban and several warnings, but i made a lot of players happy at the time. lol
