i love how lineage ii players are the most intelligent on the planet. everyone knows what it takes to set up an official server and has a phd on "predicting the future of games" from oxford.

gosh, you people glorify and predict the doom of this every single day instead of discussing about it.

people, you're not a master of handling this game as much as you think nor someone capable of predicting the future of projects like this in a community you all seem to think is united by the same reason you are here, wake up... people play games for different reasons, specially mmos.

since i know the existence of l2classic i told to some of my old l2 players friends and most of then are very interested on play, maybe a lot of people would play on eu for a days and then leave because the hardcore style but im sure that there would be enought population for one or two servers for a long time. the player who are looking for a hardcore mmo like early l2 have no others options to play so even if we are a few players like me in europe we would be concentrated in this game, at least that what i think.

 

guys of course interest of l2 classic is huge. a lot of people cant w8 till the server starts up. just look at the popular posts in this forum.

 

in few hours i can make those numbers 2x higher. so? just set spam f5 (refresh) and gl. this means nothing.

can someone inform me what kind of extazy are innova using? because couple of weeks is already 3. i want the same, because time for them goes so slow. only explanation - quality is superb.

long post, that might upset you, considering how sensitive the most are.

to begin with, i play lineage ii from c2, so i have a clear idea of what game it is. mind me saying, i've been always playing as a healer, so, please, do not tell me of how difficult the 'true' l2 is.

i do look forward l2 classics and will probably give it a try... but i don't believe it will work out.

to be honest, i know no other person nowadays who would be such as myself - seeing game as a way to have fun, not to constantly whine. i mean, if it keeps getting you frustrated, why play? i will never understand those people. and by fun, i don't just mean i enjoy grinding or pvping - i love the world, the storyline (ruined nowadays, sadly) and things like this. i do read what npcs say just because i find it interesting. lineage ii is my escape from the real life. while playing the boring parts (which go really quickly with god), i like to create back stories of my characters, create their personality, and such. yet, i keep it all for myself, because again, i know no one who would share same views i do.

from c3 till c5 i was playing on a private server that was there for ages (sadly, it closed) and those were times i had the most of fun. i was in a clan where people would talk, meet irl, care for each other and play the game. though my lvl was never the highest and it would take eternity to lvl my ee up (could hardly do a thing without a party), no one would ever bother me about that. every evening, when people would come back from work and students from schools/unis (there was age difference in clan, but no one minded), we would go spoil/farm mats needed for crafting. we would craft shots and gear ourselves. we had fun.

i was studying at school during those times, and in a day time there would be very few people -- too few to make a party and go farming. we, however, would find other ways to amuse ourselves. back in a day having a ch was luxury, and ours was in goddard - since the locations were still fairly new and we were eager to discover them, we would... play hide-and-seek in towns! sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? but it was fun, so so fun.

after gracia's update...i left l2 for a long long while. mainly because i was really eager to see the legendary gracia, i was waiting for the promised flying ships for ages....all of it appeared to be a big disappointment and i gave up. i only returned last year, when god was already there for a while. it surprised me how easy things gotten. so ridiculously easy.

while i'm still playing and refusing to go pa, i would like to point out what about god does not please me. and no, i will not whine about p2w. enjoy the list:
- importance of clans/parties is close to non-existant. people don't communicate anymore. everyone wants to be a solo player.
- there are so many locations and mobs and quests... only very few are being used.
- same quest, same story, same everything for everyone but ertheia nowadays. it is hell to have more than one character.
- there is no more real challenge.
- there is no more need to team up.
- clans used to be protection/help/team/friends/even family sometimes. nowadays it's just a source of buffs in ch.
- learning skills? teleports? remember when it was challenging? how you would spend hours taking ships to save the very few adena you had? or run from elven village to gludio, because you couldn't afford a gatekeeper? i do. it was time consuming, but totally worth it.

the list can go on and on...
i do not really miss hours spent in attempts to get a single spellbook, but i miss the spirit. i suppose this is what the most supporters of l2 classic miss.

i'm sorry to disappoint you, but i really doubt it is coming back. again, i might be wrong. but it is my opinion.
therefore, as i said, i will got to l2 classic, but i'm not abandoning my account on god, too. while i dislike the turn the game's taken, i still love lineage2. and while the most whine and don't understand what the hell i'm doing, i'm having a good time doing old quests. they might give no profit, but at least i find them enjoyable.

l2classic is not profitable enough for innova.

simple math: assuming thy will have about 4k accounts ( wishful thinking), they would be getting about 40k eur (10/eur month subscription). core gets way more than that, not to count l2store events when they break the banks. opening l2c will mean that the core population will decrease (which is already low for they do nothing to advertise).

and as elariel wrote above, l2classic is about community and player interaction. i remember when my entire student dorm was playing l2 and i was avoiding my hate full enemies on the corridors . we used to meet in pubs or go for pizza's entire clans. it's wasn't cp based but the clan was your cp.

i am 30 now and i still have friends that i met while playing l2 back when i was in uni. l2 god killed the dwarfs, killed the quests, killed the farm, killed the community.

you have to create a ridiculous army of boxes in order to farm low lvl raids. otherwise, your only option is to "farm" l2store. that is how this chronicle was designed; they removed the farm and replaced it with a store in order to compensate for the lost subscription.

keep flaming "donors" guys, but remember that those donors make it possible for you to play l2. some people have the time to farm and make chars, some don't. in order to stay competitive you have to compensate somehow.
