i'm pretty sure i'm not the first nor will be the last person to ask this but is anyone able to make it happen yet? innova's stance on this should be as herpy and derpy as possible but it's 2014 and lineage really loves to throw you into a new loading screen everytime you alt tab + the gamma ****. it's just a nope, each day that passes i'm less inclined to spend a second in this game like this. *sigh* the worst thing is that i can pretty easily take the "windowframe" option out using a fileeditor but that then the game won't start up. thank you for the attention to anyone who's reading this.
theres no way that i know to do this. also if you use the snap feature of windows 7+ where you drag the window to the top to make it "fullscreen" the game behaves like **** on crashes and relogs. i recommend manually making the window as large as possible without snapping to play it properly.
since one cannot modify any files in the game client, it would be cool if they gave us the option to play with a borderless window... but this will never happen. it's sad.
i'd like you to remember that lineage 2 is over 10 years old and that it is built on a really dated engine, you should feel lucky that you can "window" the game in the first place.
and yet we're getting new ui features, shaders and more every year. it's 2014 and it's stupid to don't be able to play a game in borderless windowed mode.
sorry to say, but this is complete "stuff coming out of the back of a bull" ;-) the engine gives much more features than u think. for example a part from the l2.ini file: [engine.gameengine] cachesizemegs=32 [windrv.windowsclient] windowedviewportx=1680 windowedviewporty=1050 fullscreenviewportx=1680 fullscreenviewporty=1050 menuviewportx=640 menuviewporty=480 brightness=0.800000 contrast=0.700000 gamma=0.800000 usejoystick=true capturemouse=true startupfullscreen=false usewindowframe=false screenflashes=true nolighting=false mindesiredframerate=35.000000 why aren't we allowed to modify these settings? changing the ini file is normally not possible due to the fact that it's "encrypted". yeah.... ofc in the end, it's still a configuration file. and modifying isn't hacking the game or whatever. a gentleman's agreement from innova would be: frost ignores changes on these parameters... but frost blocks absolutely everything. why? being not able to prevent cheating tools. so frost even hides the l2 process in taskmanager. awesome! i am not administrator on my computer, cuz frost is in case of l2 process.
i could honestly see myself right clicking the 4game app in my taskbar, going into settings, l2 eu, mark borderless. that depends solely on how much freedom innova has on this matter though, maybe ncsoft won't allow such a thing to happen.
