    i am trying to log into the game. i get all the way to character selection screen, select it, and a few minutes later get "you have been disconnected from the server. please login again.

    i don't see any announcements of any down time scheduled or unscheduled at this time.

    i've gone completely out of the game, went to https://eu.4game.com/lineage2/play/ and clicked "play"

    i joined the server on multiple accounts without any problems.

    can you tell me more about your pc specification and software you are running?

    hi, i moved to dungeon siege iii while waiting. i am running windows 7, 64-bit, i7 laptop with 8 gb of ram. it was working fine yesterday. i had some windows updates and rebooted the machine. now i am having trouble.

    i will try another reboot just to see since you are not having issues. i am from the usa but i don't think that should be an issue.


    **edit: i rebooted and found where i can do a file checker for the game. now i'm in. i don't know what was wrong, but thanks for the reply!

    actually, i've tried playing and it is very laggy. i got killed in swamp of screams because of lag, went back to rune. i thought i would move to aden and blazing swamps but every time i go to gatekeeper in rune, i get message "you have been disconnected from the server. please login again."

    i am going to put it up for the night/day. i did briefly talk to my mentor about the situation and he agrees with the lag. he's from spain and i am from the usa. he was having issues with the game and thought it was computer/router issues.

    first of all, use check4game app and use winmtr option.

    i am not sure which version of l2 is the lineage 2 eu version on my system, so i am going to remove all and re-install.

    **edit: found the version via add/remove programs. moved the file over to the game directory and running it now. looks like should be done with results in about 20 minutes.

    i have tried setting my gpu to performance mode, set the graphics in game to "average" on everything, turned off antivirus, and even tried vpn servers from europe and usa. nothing seems to improve it. i would get to the point where i would have to soe or use the gatekeeper to transport to town, and i get "you have been disconnected."

    it is currently unplayable for me. i am glad i have not put any money in for the game yet.

    check firewall, antivirus. something block frost and disconnect you.

    i didn't think anything changed in the firewall. as i said in a previous post that i disabled antivirus and still didn't change anything. i have completely removed 4game and lineage 2 and currently in the process of re-installing it. i didn't see anything about allowing or blocking the l2 game (under lineage 2, 4game, or anything that looks like it) in the firewall, but maybe that is because it is currently not installed.

    any idea what it's listed as in the firewall? meanwhile, i will finish installing the game and see if there are any new requests for the firewall, and post my results later.

    hi,
    it is very common that firewall/antyvirus works even if disabled. did you try to remove it completely and then try to launch the game?
    what kind of protection you have?

    after re-installing the game and opening the ports on the router per another thread i found, it seemed to work better this last time. it still lagged in some areas, but not as bad. i haven't gotten the "you have been disconnected" message when trying to log in or teleport.

    i have windows 7 firewall and avast antivirus. i do not wish to uninstall antivirus just to play a game, and then re-install it when i'm done. i do find it odd that i've been playing the last 2-3 weeks without incident until recently. i will continue to experiment.

    **edit: apparently i posted too soon. after posting, i tried launching the game twice and both times after i got to select my character and is in the load screen before seeing the game, it gets the message "you have been disconnected."

    i am launching it from chrome, if that has anything to do with?
