i don't get this deepblue, i think all he does in his work day is just delete some random coments, and then writte 'stay on topic'. and now this, in these forums you can't have a normal discustion when deepblue have deep *** pain in all topics.

why there is an offtopic section than? delete it, if members can't go offtopic (including other games). i agree there should be no links, pics etc., but discussions? really? there are games people play for fun (not games that forces you to stay online long, just fast once), and may be community of core can play it together... why took it from them? if core players decide to move somewhere else, they will do it and without someone actually to tell them. but eh, well, i suppose rules are rules, but still - offtopic section qq censure

the streisand effect works only if the topic being censored is known and specific, by not allowing to talk about other games i cannot link it back to a specific game. unless this was done purposely to censor one game, which i don't know.

 

yes, you are right, but in my opinion there was many posts about one specific game lately, but well, i'm not even an intern in core detective department so my observations might be wrong!

 

as you could read in deepblue post, it was tolerated since always, but lately after famous rioters emoquited, we got many of them flaming from alt accounts with "come to x game, l2 gonna die after its release", "we got xx ppl from both clans already, join us too", "that engine, that graphics, dat hype" and so on. no wonders they made this new rule to be able ban these butthurted re**rds freely.

after all, it's business kids, if you allow to advertise competitors' products on your's backyard...

i sincerely disagree with the op and agree with proton, dunno whats worse at this stage.

however, users are to be considered not customers (you do not pay to access the forums) but guests and as such they should attain to the host's rules, no more, no less.
also i don't see how people can't realize is not deepblue that makes higher ups decisions, and its maybe an older community member than anybody who posted in here excluding myself.

there's always 2 sides of one coin. i think you will agree, that given the community here, discussing other games, quickly evolves to advertising the other game or trashing the current game, even if it's in the off-topic forum. while i do believe in the freedom of speech i agree with innova's call on this one. i even looked up the forums of a few other mmo's and nowhere i saw any such kind of topics permitted. not to mention their policies, which include stuff like this :

i'm admin and moderator on our cz forum about lineage. we have there sections about other games and i don't think it makes any kind of advertising or something nor making people quit lineage. i don't see anything wrong with it. and if you think, that the fact you don't allow people talk about other games will make them stay here and play lineage, you are so wrong. honestly, all those resctrictions and deleted posts shows very bad face of lineage and lineage community, so not other games, but your own people makes people think if it's worth to stay.

 

so now you're not a gamer... now you're just moderating this forum ;p sad

this is forum is innova's bussines but (!) this bussines doesn't exist without players !
this forum-site-gameserver is only working by thousands euros spened by players....

for me and any logical thinking person - 1 small, small thread about aa should exist and what is problem with that huh ?!
