i wrote a ticket and got this response:
(i havent tried that yet, was hoping the issue would reslove itself)

checking geo.l2.eu:2106 (login server) => err
a connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
    checking http://trace.inn.eu

    i have the same error...

i have unistalled antivirus, and used the check4game program, but it doesn't work.

it's not a network issue, because i have my labtop logged just now using the same network. yesterday, i logged off l2 and computer, and today, i have started the pc, updated the l2 and tried to log in (no more actions in the middle, only updating 4game) :s

    tried re-installing 4game

    tried network / router reboot
    tried pc reboot
    tried deleting cookies

im in way of reinstalling client game, deleted previous installation, when finish i can try if finally works. it goes sloooowly for download.
i not believe that reinstall were the solution but nothing more available to get game working.

support has answer me like this:

port 2106 has to be open for you to be able to play.
there could be several reasons for your problem:

    1. port 2106 is blocked in router settings.
    2. port 2106 is blocked by your provider
    3. port 2106 is blocked in your firewall or antivirus settings.
please check all these possibilities. try connecting to the internet directly without the router. if it doesn't help, contact your provider and ask them to open the port.

but it's not a problem with connection, so no good responde for us... anything done during this last maintenance have to be responsible of that (4 ppl at least with the same problem is not casual). so, please, we ask you to check which can be the problem.

i was hoping this was one of those "wait over night and the problem goes away" things, but nope.

    tried re-installing 4game
    tried repairing game
    tried without av
    tried network / router reboot
    tried pc reboot
    tried deleting cookies
    tried delete 4game
tried delete 4game + registry cleanout
    tried delete frost
tried delete frost + registry cleanout

now tried running all the tests in the check4game.exe util, all looks ok but still

checking geo.l2.eu:2106 (login server) => err
a connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 109.105.153.10:2106

    tried disabling av firewall
    tried disabling router firewall
i am sure it cant be the isp or router as my 2nd pc connected to the same hardware works fine. i cant see the difference!!

i have scoured the internet for anything that might help, but nothing.

any gm's out there that want to help?

hi guys, yesterday one of support guys contact me to do some checkings in my pc. more than an hour of testing, but it was impossible to know which the problem was :(

so, as last measure, a windows 7 reinstall... i did it tomorrow late night, and reinstall l2, and it works fine again. now, i'm in my work, and i will come back to login this afternoon, after installing some common programs and drivers. i hope that there isn´t any more troubles with that.

i want to say thanks to gm and support engineer (fast and efficient with ticket response, they did a good and professional support work :) ). he made all tests possible and more, but sometimes, with a "poltergeist" like that, it's impossible to know which the trouble is. we suppose that some software caused it, so the only solution was to format and reinstall windows.
