so i found a program that moves the window so that the top and left borders are not visible. unfortunately the game window is smaller than the actual resolution used. it seems that the window takes frame size into account and makes the game smaller. so i guess there is no way of playing l2 borderless without modding files :[

i gave you a way to do that few posts earlier. it does remove border and it doesn't have to move your window to 0,0 if you comment one line or put different coordinates there. have you tried it after all?

    proof of concept:

    dear players,
i contact with hgm and techncial team, they inform me that no frame is detected as modifiaction and is not allowed at l2 europe servers.
please refrain from using any modifications including any modification for the windows frame as this could result in you being banned

even though i don't know how to do it, i'm pretty sure there is no modification on game files, but on windows settings. so if anyone should complain, it should be microsoft, not ncsoft, lol.
and btw, i don't know how are they able to figure it out if my window frame it's 1 or 100 pixels, or is missing completly...

yes, it can be easly checked whether you play on fullscreen, in window or frameless window, but it's ridiculous to check it and put frost in alert for that. it simply doesn't make sence as it's completelly harmless and can hardly be considered as cheating. it also isn't any kind of client modification.

it is better to have one simple rule imo
"no modifcation of the client allowed"

if you begin to made exceptions for this and for that, it ends with a 58 pages long eula and a system working as good as gameguard

the thing is, it can't be considered as client modification since you do not change any client files or it's properties. for example, if you change your windows theme or change window manager completelly your frame will be different as well or might be even disabled for all windows if you want it.

maybe it is considered as client modification if you do this only for the l2 process using your script, wich can be considered as a third party software imo

if there's a check for windows border for your l2 process then it doesn't matter if they're disabled for all windows or not, it'll catch you anyway. it doesn't matter which way you do that either since the method used to do that is always the same and provided by os itself. still not a 3rd party nor client mod. anyway, so far so good, gonna see what happends in the future.

why would it be considered a modification when were doing nothing with the game what it wont let us do itself. were simply removing a windows "feature". so is forcing v-sync, aa and other graphical options a modification as well? it clearly changes the game? some rules just dont make sense.

i agree 100%. so if i am using a theme for my os with disabled window frames - i am going to get banned?

can someone from "hgm and techncial team" come here and explain in proper english - how exactly are we making modifications to the game files/client?
