im wondering whats with every1 trying to be so smart? you think they dont know how many ppl gona play?im telling u that they have a server which could hold on 10k ppl, not that they have 2gb ram.. believe me it will be better than u think, we're not talking about some private server expecting 2k ppl and having trouble to keep them up.

there is no hats in innova's online shop.

go find me those full items till vesper, hats with op buffs, 100% enchant scrolls sold in packs that nctroll has in offer. you won't find them there. everything in innova is is chance based, so you could waste tons of cash and get nothing, while on ncsoft you got 100% chance to get what you paid for.

 

that is not realistic, first, is not the bw, but the machine, second, the hunting grounds, instances, etc are limited resources, would you wait 3 min to ks a mob ?
10 k is not impossible, but i was not talking about the long run when the servers are settled, i mean at launch it is completely different, first, everyone is eager to test stuff and plan ahead before the others, second, all will spawn in same area, third, the mobs will be severely limited compared with ppl after them, etc.
i think they were going like this:
we launch one server, when is about to crash we launch the second, then the third, etc.
it may work if:
1. the servers are actually loaded, ready to come online;
2. the login server will be able to handle it;
3. the account creation will be able to handle it;
4. the admins will be on top of things and will expect the unexpected;
5. the gms will be on to help spawn more mobs ready to take all the servers that will come online;
6. the launch is relatively low key and not all ppl know about it;
7. the login server is turned off every few min for half an hour, etc.
all those conditions must be met. the pts will surely de dead in the water soon after start otherwise because lag in starting area will make the game load in 10 min and moving 1 square will take 1 min. suppose it does hold, the client cant handle 500 ppl in the same spot, so the client will crash and this will prompt even more logins per sec.
i dont say the hardware or bw cant take 10 k without lag, far from it, i say the clients cant, the experience will be miserable, 10 k in normal conditions is far different from 10 k in the same place.

calm down pretty please, im sure you dont really know what you are talking about, but some hints:

retail is limited for a reason, the server files of lineage2 cannot handle in stable state more than 6k ppl with heavy load, 5k limit is a security scale and count that also that mssql open connection numbers are also limited. ofc. you can start a server with no limit, but especially a fresh server where every second a lot of things are changing will crash the server files, even maybe the server it self. did you ever saw any server? not to mention managing one? (and i mean a dedicated server, not a c2quad or phenomx or i7 with 8-12-16 gb ddr3 **** lol). so please dont go into this deeper, thx. also client is different, see above the post of meo.
