Critical Error

well you admit it's not the problem here , so why should i upgrade if everything is working fine? (plus my xp takes only 200mb ram )
i havn't had 1 single problem running every games until now , i guess i can still use winxp until win8 final release comes out !

ps : urbandenim if everything is working fine for you can you please upload gameshielddll from your system folder here ?

 

lets stop the discussion here, its nothing to do with xp or not xp, its to make this work, but only a little question, ure on 7 64 or 32? if ure on 32, ure outdated.

as for all u win7 ****** jeez cut the **** out if ppl wanna upgrade or not its their choice, winxp is still fully supported by a majority of games including new releases...is it ur pc? no! so gtfo and let ppl run whatever os they wanna run, go troll in an offtopic section if u just wanna make **** all day coz ur bored then maybe devs/gms/admin/helpful community mbrs can see the real problems without having to read through all ur nonsense...ty

 

its works , but the problem is i get dc like 30 mins after logging in. dunno its related to this no video issue or its another bug or problem with my connection.

 

xp is supported by all games/programs. its first time when something is not working due to having xp not win7.

pd:to be honest you should need 3+gb ram to run in vista or w7 because the os use at least 1gb to run itself.

 

i can run god at ncwest, i can even run god at ruoff and i can not run l2 at innova eu, but yeah it's windows xp

same problem. i downloaded it today. i play in usa offcial, played in rus offcial and everything is fine. all tell that xp isnt good for it, but why i need to change it of one l2 version. i read that in rus offcial server it was fixed, hope this problem will be fixed fast here too. all want to test server

angrybaba, thank you for publishing this useful guide. as i know, russian players were doing the same thing, but later the use of "shortcuts" was deprecated due to observance of the rules and improving account security. so we needed more flexible fix, i think.

@radix, can't you make some normal launcher integrated with frost instead of forcing players to login via web. i do understand that it's all to increase protection, but it was never about security through obscurity. even every decent private server in the past were able to handle those issues better and it's not only about windows xp players. method to launch the game from shortcut described above is fine, except that you have to update shortcut every few minutes currently since the game crashes quite often, usually with error @fenixpc pasted. come on, ncwest did better job here with their buggy launcher, at least for now. beta or not, innova is providing l2 service long enough to be aware of potential issues like that and as you wrote before, they already encountered then.

 

arcain, "shortcuts" is fine right now, it's true (same was in ru-servers too).

i really don't know yet why it was decided to use web-launch method - in my opinion, it still needs some serious modifications.
on ru-servers lineageii is started by the qt-based application called "zapuskatr" (through simple createprocessw api call). the main goal of lineageii.exe is properly configure frost system and launch game client. there is no problems with this launch chain at all (may be slow, but...).

i'm sure that the problem will be solved soon by innova and any third-party launchers (as well as shortcuts) will no longer be needed.
