    hello!
i am running windows7 (with bootcamp) on an imac (mid2011 with 1tb hdd) to play lineage2
i would like to upgrade to ssd but i dont feel like tearing apart the mac to add an internal one, so id rather use an external thunderbolt ssd (like lacie little big disk)

since it's quite expensive i wanted to know some things first:

1.microsoft doesnt allow win to install on external disks. so is there any workaround for this? thunderbolt port is bootable. osx can be installed and run from it.

2.would there be any difference in performance regarding lineage2 only, between the following situations:
win+l2 on hdd and win on hdd, l2 on ssd
if yes, how is it compared to: win+l2 on ssd

i know there are many guides out there, but none for thunderbolt users..

    hi,
about ssd. in ssd should be swap + programs which you want be faster. there is no need to install os on ssd.

about 1st question... i dont know. becouse we do not support mac os we dont have many expert with imac with win 7

ps. frost dont run on bootcamp, so l2 will not start at all.

    best reagrds

thank you very much for your answer.

frost does run on bootcamp. i am playing on it since day1 without any problem.
it might not run on virtual machine..

it's hard to use virtual machine to dualbox, last time i was using it i had problems with giving proper cpu/ram/gpu resources.
gpu that was emulated in vm software could emulate some "funny" graphic adapter, and even high five was hard to run with more than 1-2 fps :)
