i'm not an expert in this field. i opened my frost folder and clicked on the frostupdater, but the table appears for 1 second and then disappears with no subsequent effect. any further advice i might expect?

for technical issues you should create a thread in the following section - technical issues and give full details of your problem there so the technical team can assist you.

    moved posts to appropriate section.

    regards.

hmm... i think "fix" is not for frost updates =)
frost update is possible through automatic frostupdater.exe launch with proper command line

direct exe-launch without proper command line will not help you

    ...
have you seen some "progress bar" or other launching effects?

    your are wrong =)
fix tool only for frostupdater.exe downloading (it's simply intermediate launcher, not frost itself). check your frost\files.cinn file after deleting frost folder and using fix button ;)

frost folder content after using fix tool
    + files.cinn content
you can fully repair frost only through updater running + game client running (in-game process will update your main frost component - gameshielddll.dll)

yeah! sure. when the game is active it can updates frost ofc! but web-site "fix" button is for different task.

the launch / frost update chain will be:
web plugin -> 4gameservice.exe via tcp / ip command (already started) -> 4gamelaucnher.exe for uac checks -> frostupdater.exe (installed through web-site) -> frost folder downloading -> game start -> gameshielddll downloading (main frost component) -> in-game process
