Just got back to L2 and playing my Tyrr Maestro with Otell FS sub. I've read most advices from this forum, but most of them are 2014 old, so I guess it would be a decent time to start making a list of known facts for Maestro. I'm just getting back, and I'll update this post as often as possible. But for current players, if you wanna lend a hand in this endeavor, please reply the following questions: 1. Best weapon for single target PvE (RB): Slasher vs Avenger 2. Best weapon for AOE (Pole, duh) 3. Best DYES for solo / group also (PvE), I think we can all agree that for PvP, CON trumps everything else. 4. What's the best skill rotation against single / multi target (I guess it also depends if you are tanking or not) 5. How would you rank jewelries from good to best for this class If I can think of anything else, I'll update this list, and also create a readable summary at the top of the post once some answers start piling in.
Since nobody bothered to reply, I'll try to answer myself (with the limited lvl 97 experience that I currently have). This is for PvE only, I have no PvP experience. 1. I've tested using PA Apocalypse weapons, on DPS test dummy, and both weapons seem to behave similarly (with focus, 150 holy). About the masteries themselves, the blunt mastery seems to be better, but the blunt itself is worse stats wise than the 2h sword. My take on this, is that they both balance out, and since we're Maestros this allows us to go in style using a Blunt + Shield /yay 2. Pole, DmgUp + HP Drain. I'm unsure at this moment if the HP return from DmgUp is greater or less than HP drain. Having both is a big + though. 3. I think STR for PvE, however, STR for PvE won't result in a any huge noticeable difference. 4. Single Target: Just use Armor Destruction, and then auto attack Multi Target: Solo: Just use a corner, use Eruption (stun) whenever available, then auto-attack Party: Use Eruption (stun), but make sure that the targets are somewhat close together, it's pointless for you to stun them while they're apart, since the pole won't hit as many targets as it could. Then use Hurricane Storm (still hits more targets than auto-attack when the targets are not close together). Then auto-attack until the skills reset 5. I'm really not up to date with jewelries but I think: necklace: R+ grade necklace < tezza < tezza soul <= istina (warrior) <= octavis (warrior) earring: R+ earrning < zaken < bless zaken <= istina < .. ring: R+ ring < octavis < istina < istina (warrior) < octavis (warrior) < aq < baium < aq (soul) <= baium (soul) < ... Please correct me on any of the above, or simply reply to the questions in the main post
For some reasons that I mustn't explain here, I couldn't answer you : I'll be totally honest with you, Maestro isn't a good class, be it in PvE or PvP. PvE wise, you've way better tyrrs (for PvE : Dread or Titan, with an upper hand for Titan), for PvP : Duelist or Dread (his stuns are trully a pain in the ***). You're closer to a tank than a DD, but you lack his defensive skills (defensive in term of party utility, aggro, pt rescue, ...). I'll try to answer you anyway : 1-2) Spear for AoE PvE; the spear is the best weapon, find a corner, auto attack. Otherwise, I'd recommend to use the 1h blunt/shield setup. 3) STR (same goes for CON) makes a good difference when you have a decent/stacked gear. I'd recommend STR for PvE, CON for PvP. 4) You pretty much said it. 5) Two possible setups for Jewels. The "max m.def as much as possible" and the "I'm gonna stun the **** out of you". Be carefull that I'll list every jewels, even the ones you won't be able to buy, just so you can have an idea of further goals : Stun setup : Earring : B.Antharas >>> CoC Stun > Istina Earring Necklace : Soul Frintezza Rings : Soul AQ / Soul Baium Mdef setup : Earring : B.Antharas >>> CoC Stun > Istina Earring Necklace : B.Valakas (not worth imo), Soul Frintezza > Octavis Necklace Warrior Rings : Tauti & Beleth (if cannot buy tauti, focus a high mdef ring, as octavis/istina rings) Imo the Valakas lacks the debuff chance/resist. It adds a fair amount of damage (+3 str, +10% patk, 10% cdr, 5% skill power), but its price is really high. Should focus the rest of your jewels before considering buying it.
Basically, I never play any other class than dwarf. Dwarves have never been especially good for anything in particular, still the game is full of them. That's why this thread. I'm trying to gather the experience of fellow dwarves and keep it updated through the game updates. By pve single target I mainly mean RBs like Kartia and what not. I'm guessing that focus is still the priority SA until focus is maxed, then dmg up. Right? Thank you for your input.
The server might have a lot of dwarves, but they are mostly dwarves who are neither maestros nor spoilers. This is off topic but i dont see the real point of being maestro as their specialty lies to be in town offering crafting, which every dwarf (wether healer dwarf or w/e can also provide), except for chance of double craft.
Then I'm playing the two classes that nobody else does. And I'm fine with that. When I'll get to the end game content 100+, if being a maestro / spoiler will be an issue, I might consider an alternative. Until then I'm fine playing a class that's not the most sought after. So far I've had no issues getting parties for my dailies. From now on, please, if you have something to add about the maestro that will bring knowledge to others that might read this thread please do. So far the most popular advice to how to actually play this class is not to. This is not what this thread is supposed to be about.
I'm considering to return and like you my main char is a Maestro/FS and from the looks of it these two classes once again got screwed over with the latest update. I will take a peek on how it plays but if it indeed is a waste of time I'll consider rerolling completely.
Golem will be 1 shotted and you need not learn berserker spirit, as I remember, and it makes no sense.
