New brooch called Garnet is supposed to give debuff resist. Some ppl in my clan did some tests with same resist/chance with and without garnet, and there was no significant differences at Garnet lv 4 (+20% debuff resist). Since after changing AP (+20% stun) or physical trait (+20 chance/resist for physical debuffs) or mental ap/trait we saw difference on the tests and almost no difference with garnet, I'm opening this topic.
I'm also curious to get an answer for this. I too have tested debuff resistance with garnet lvl 4 and saw no improvements.
What i think is Garnet giving protection against the "pure" debuff what is not under these types: Hold Pulling Poison Bleed Mental Stun/Shock Knock Back Knock Down Airal Yoke Paralyze forexample "Mark of Lumi" from healer is pure debuff not part of any kind of those types that you can build. (in this theory stun is not considered as debuff, stun is stun ...etc) would be nice if a GM/Tester could confirm this.
Garnet lvl 4 = +20% debuff resist. So if now you have +30% debuff resist from other items, and your base debuff resist is 20 we have: 20+6+5.2=31.2 Do you really believe that with all those items out there, skill enchants, OE armor sets, talismans, epics etc, it would make a huge difference if you have 20 or 31.2?
I guess you are wrong, but I may be also. Any skill which decrease ur stats,is a debuff.Any skill which increase your stats,is a buff. So actually that "20% resistance to debuff" means that it increase the chance to resist to ANY debuff of 20%. But as @Karmaniola said "So if now you have +30% debuff resist from other items, and your base debuff resist is 20 we have: 20+6+5.2=31.2" Which mean that it's kinda useless if it's not used for "huge numbers".The debuffs you wrote can be splitted into 'Physical' and 'Mental' debuffs Physical: Stun, Paralyze, Knockback, Knock Down, Hold, Disarm, Petrify Mental: Sleep, Mutate, Fear, Aerial Yoke, Silence And keep in mind that actually the following 2 debuffs : Poison zone (othell rogue) and Exile (wynns) have 2 different of 'debuff' type which are "Altered zone" and "Banishing" (if im not wrong). By IG items you can increase almost ANY of this debuffs land rate or resistance (Mental shield/dual class skills/earrings). This is just to tell : if your base stat is low,you wont see any difference.Try to boost the debuff atk/def stat without the "%" items but with "x" items. For example you can make this test with stun : get "Resist shock" from EE or CH (both should provide +40 points of resist stun) and then dual class skill "Physical Trait" (if it's not modified,it used to give +20 points),you will get to +60 points (or try to get 'Resist shock' and some old debuff resistance buffs like 'Lionsheart'),and then get the Garnet, you should get around 11/12 points of resist to stun...not much, maybe 1 less landed stun, but that's how L2 works. % % %
We were doing some tests with like +130% stun resist/chance (b. anthy, coc stun, soul frint, soul baium, ap for stun resist/chance).. And if you put soul qa on either the attacker or the deffender (25% stun resist/chance), you can see the difference.. but if you put garnet, doesn't seem to make difference..
There is term mesmerize. I think mesmerizes aint affected by debuff resistance. http://www.lineage2.com/en/game/patch-notes/goddess-of-destruction/character-changes/
When an Awakened character is affected by a mesmerizing debuff, that character’s chance of being affected by another debuff of the same type is lowered for 15 seconds. If the character is affected with a second mesmerizing debuff, the chance of being affected by another successful mesmerizing debuff decreases even further The first mesmerizing debuff has the usual chance of success. The second mesmerizing debuff has 60% of the usual chance of success. The third mesmerizing debuff has 30% of the usual chance of success. A character affected by three mesmerizing debuffs at once becomes immune to further mesmerizing debuffs. Shame its not working on Feoh fear on olympiad and you can get x5+ fear...
