1) does it mean that now it isn't in luxembourg yet? 2) now i lag a very little bit, but maybe it could affect pvp in the future. is there a way to check the in-game ping that i have?
umm.. geo.l2.eu is host of the ip adress, which means host ip is 109.105.153.10. by tracking host ip we can know where is login server, in this case it is in luxembourg.
i can confirm that the serve is in luxembourg 50 ping for most european good isps 100 ms (stay in school) which is fine - since while where still here. edit; the login server has nothing to do with the game server. the login server is in ?? we dont care- the game server is in luxembourg. the login server can be in lineage2 retail for all we care . we care about ping (latency) which would be the game server. which is in luxembourg <- again .
lets put in this way. i wrote only that what i know for sure. i can't say that game server is there, because i can't connect to game to check server location, because of crit.error i get. but i can give hints where is login server is and mostlikely where game server, because right now there is only 1 game server it would make sence if it would be in same room as is login server. (to own server machine to keep only login server, while game server would be in other country, wouldn't make sence at all.) cheers.
ye it wouldn't make sense to have login and game server in different countries... because login server is a very small piece of the whole server thingy
1) maybe i'm wrong but are you really saying that the game server is already in luxembourg and are we really playing on it on pts? in that case it feel strange to me, i wouldn't have that small lag that i have. 2) in order to check that you have 50 ping did you use the ping service on "geo.l2.eu" or did you use another way?
friend said it. by opening l2.ini from system directory, its possible to find login adress. also you would get same ip, using cmd 'netstat' command by trying login in. Code: [url] protocol=unreal protocoldescription=unreal protocol name=player map=index.unr localmap=entry.unr host= portal= mapext=unr exename=l2.exe saveext=usa port=7777 class=lineagewarrior.mfighter serveraddr=geo.l2.eu isl2netlogin=true isl2console=true isl2seamless=true isl2projector=true isl2mark=2 forceaspectratio=false aspectratio=1.334 isdefaultshaodw=false isunderwatereffect=false isusecommand=true l2versioncheck=false isl2memlog=false l2threadfilter=1 l2testserver=true enablepurgelevel=true sharedsky=true l2maxpawnresourceload=1.0 l2usekeycrypt=true l2usereplaymanager=true msnhidewarnmsg=false enablesecondwindow=false enablepremiummultiwindow=true isusexmlui=true l2shaderpath=..\system\ gamepointurl=https://my.4game.ru/payment.html usenewpetition=false l2homeurl=http://www.l2.ru/ ;l224hzhomeurl=http://www.24hz.com/#/main/intro/player buse24hz=false useauthuserdata=true ;l2ingameboardurl=about:blank replayfileversion=5 nogg_auth=true netsendhardware=false seems, programs as battle ping (5$ monthly, maybe ping check doesn't cost) and 'leatrix latency fix' used in na official, which decrease ping shows ping too. in freya it was shown near the server name, in high five when you enter the server system\s_info.ini file use to update. in god none of the before. now, you could try this way:
tnx for the answers, i already had in mind to try "leatrix latency fix", but i just wanted a value about my lag so that then i could check if it decreases or not. i'm now using win xp, when i go to "performance tab" there aren't buttons with "resource monitor". any other way?
i pinged geo.l2.eu and i still can't understand why i lag that bit, in the previous servers i lagged a bit less i remember. i have 63ms and ttl=243 is it bad to have a too high ttl? i found that ttl are how many router hops the packet has gone through, so maybe it could me a problem.
ttl is just a counter, decreasing with each hop, used to avoid infinite loops (when decreased to 0, packet is pwned).......i don't think that's problem
