    What is a Brooch?

A Brooch is a unique accessory which takes one slot in inventory. There are 3 kinds of Brooches. Each kind has slots to fill in with Jewels. The main difference between Brooches is the number of slots available for Jewels. Visually each Brooch has 6 slots, but only up to 4 of them can be actually used.

A Brooch cannot be enchanted or augmented. All Brooches are No-Grade items.

Equip your Brooch and double click (or right-click) a Jewel in your inventory to insert it in the Brooch. Thus you will obtain the respective passive skill or stats of the Jewel. You can insert up to 4 different Jewels in total.

Here are all the available Brooches. All of them increase your M. Def. and the last one, the 4-slot Brooch, also adds 12 free slots to your inventory.

    What is a Jewel?

Jewels are special stones giving powerful passive skills once equipped. There are 8 kinds of Jewels for any taste. 6 of them have passive skills and 2 Jewels (Ruby and Sapphire) have skills that are not displayed in skills menu. What for are they? Ruby and Sapphire increase damage of Soul Shots and Blessed Spirit Shots respectively.

Starting from Lv. 3, these Jewels give your weapon a bright animation upon Shot usage. It will make your enemies tremble:

    * Attention: Basic animation of Soul Shots and Blessed Spirit Shots is changed with usage of Ruby and Sapphire. With each Shot usage (strike or spell cast) the weapon flares brightly. Screenshots depict the moment of equipping the weapon with activated Shots. The weapon is not glowing constantly!

How to increase the level of a Jewel?

Each Jewel has 5 levels: The higher the level, the more powerful the effect. How to increase the level? Use Compound button!

Press Compound button in the lower part of your inventory window.

    The Compound window will appear.

Place 2 Jewels of the same type and level in the slots.
Remember that you cannot compound Jewels of different types and/or levels!

In case of successful compounding you will get a Jewel of higher level.

If you compounding is failed one of the Jewels will be destroyed, but the other one will remain.

What types of Jewels are available?

You can choose from a range of 8 kinds of Jewels, but you can insert only up to 4 Jewels in your Brooch. So choose wisely when leveling your Jewels!
Note that when using 2 Jewels of the same kind their effects do not stack and only the effect of the Jewel with the higher level is applied. For example, when using Obsidian with levels 4 and 5 the effect will be only of the Jewel with 5 level.
