Dear players, next week, on December 6, we plan to release Salvation update on Core and Ramona. What's coming with that update: 1) Balthus Knights quest 2) New Spezion(extreme) and Shadow of Mother Tree 3) New clan system 4) New skills for Sigel Knights and Iss Enchanters and some skill rebalance 5) Raid with Etis van Etina and Kain van Halter 6) Renewed Fortress sieges 7) and a lot more Spoiler In the worst case, it may be postponed for a week or two.
Why always when you are going to update the game and the whole world is waiting for patch notes + release date of the game you do it 1 week or/to 10 days before? This is not good. Take lessons from other companies how they advertise, post their game updates and patch notes...
As we're not the developers (unlike many other companies), we have certain limitations. Process steps: 1) The devs send us the RU update version first for major checks. Test are manual, so they take time. During the tests, our QA team makes up check-lists that later will help us to test EU version more quickly. 2) We file reports about issues back to the devs team until the version matches the patchnotes. We finalize our patchnotes during this stage. Patchnotes then are translated by the Lineage 2 EU Team and uploaded to the website. 3) We install RU build and also wait for EU update to arrive. When it is here, we perform tests again with the check-lists, then we install it. Usually, step 2 takes about ~ month. Its progress hugely depends on the speed with which the issues are fixed by the devs. That's why we cannot be sure of the release date until we get to the final stage of step 3, when most of the issues are fixed and we only wait for minor ones to arrive with a commitment from the devs to deliver the fixes until a certain date. So between installing when the update is ready and waiting another month so everyone could see the announcement, we prefer installing it. Now, RU will be updated tomorrow, meaning, we've just received fully verified patchnotes and are currently translating them.
When you receive the build for RU version from NCSoft, don't they also send you some specs, list of changes or something on which you could work to release an early patch note ? I mean you cannot be discovering new skills effect by trying them out yourself right ? Like you gave us preview about clan system, which was good, i'm guessing you should be able to do the same about changes for isses/tank etc since the moment you receive RU files, aren't you ? I mean even if some fixes are made by devs, they are supposed to make it work as intended according to the original specifications, so this shouldn't be subject to change. It's not like they are gonna change some skill effect from 10% to 5% because well, it's bugued so whatever. Not trying to blame you here but I don't get how innova is not capable of releasing patch notes (at least for skill changes and major additions) earlier than a week before update(or less). On a positive note, we're getting the update earlier than expected, so that's cool
4 days before siege. we should organize some pvp within the clan prior to that to get used to the new changes and strategies ;D @Hax @andrius3022
