    when your armor gets better,
    up goes your defense.
    but how does it matter?
    does it make any sense?
    if damage reduces,
    then to what extent?
    this is to be tested,
    and so off it went.

    in this test we will see how physical defense (p. def.) influences the amount of damage received by the character. there is an assumption that damage is inversely proportional to p. def., that is, if we increase p. def. by

    50%
    , damage received by the target is supposed to go down by 50%.

    to test this assumption, we took two level 99 tyrr warriors. the first character had 5558 p. atk. in the first series of attacks and 10289 in the second one. he used [IMG] mega strike against the second tyrr warrior, whose p. def. was changed during the test.

    results:

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    p. def.damage 1damage 22356118914833115903112635497929885286532633
    to make it more graphic, we would like you to look at the diagram, where 2356 is considered 100% p. def. for damage 1 (with 5558 p. atk.), 1189 is taken for 100%, while for damage 2, 1483 is taken for 100%.

    note: for clarity, in the damage columns we showed how many per cent more damage we inflicted with 100% p. def.

    [IMG]

    conclusion: as we supposed, the damage turned out to be inversely proportional to p. def. while it does not matter, how much p. atk. your attacker has or how much p. def. your target has: increasing p. def. by 2 will reduce damage by 2.
