Coming back to the old addiction

hi people!

i used to play lineage 2 since the days of chronicle 2 on lionna server (good all times with excellion, grandmastabuff and mocosa). i quit the game and came back several times, been this one the latest.
i obviously went back to my ncwest accounts, since all my chars adena and equipment is there, but to my dismay i experienced horrible lag and continued bot spam...unplayable!
i then saw a post on the official forums speaking about this site, and thought about giving it a try from fresh, tabula rasa!

i have been reading around the forums, checking the main posts of help to newcomers and it seems this server is fairly similar to the official one, with a sort-of path to awakening been evolutionary road (correct me if i'm wrong!).

but i do have a few unanswered questions.sorry for the question-bombing and thanks in advance!:

1- been away from l2 for so long, i don't know how hard it will be to reach a level in which i will be able to pvp, siege and have fun in general. i know you can reach 40 fairly easy with the beginners quests, but how are things after that?
2 - how populated is the server? will it be easy to find clan, parties, mentor?
3 - speaking of mentoring, from what level can one get a mentor? and is there anybody out there willing to mentor non-hardcore players? (yeah, i don't get much play time been working most of the day )
4 - in my times, nukers were the rulers of the pvp world, me been a spectral dancer suffering them...how is it now? i read tanks are fairly good in pvp now, is it true?
5 - last one (for now! ), is it true you cant get a subclass anymore until 85?

1) leveling is super easy, especially if you get a mentor. you can reach 85+ in a week or two depending on how much you play, pvp really doesn't exist until after level 90 in most cases (not counting sieges and olympiad).

2) servers have a healthy population and i have never really had problems getting into groups using the party matching system. you should have no problems finding a mentor as there seem to be more mentors than mentees.

3) you can get a mentor from level 1, problem is most mentors want a player who logs in everyday. if not you get kicked after 1 or 2 days of not being online; mostly now because lindvior has some big changes in the mentor/mentee system.

4) i do not pvp so i cannot answer you, but summors seems to be pretty powerful and popular as are archers.

1 my friend record was 85 level in 1 day
after 85 you use matchmakeer party to join with groups (its hard to play alone on core) find clan find mentor asap to get this 200% exp boost, join raid boss pt camp
pvp is very active on whole levels, ganks and drama too but its a game about drama and politics ofc

2 you can do all dailies and hunt with friends by day, 0 problem
and at night i found out there is many brazilian players that have even clans here play at european night time so even in night you will be able to go 85 + spot for make a quest

3 mentor from 1 till 86 get him asap and he must be active (logged in game) so you will get 200% boost exp (no worry, they got like 100kk from you when you finish a contract ) and you got free permanent 85 + lvl items and weapon (not talking about evolutionary, it end on vorpal equipment)

4 every class is nice and as was always in lineage have their own purpose
so you can do healer and still do some nuke dmg
you can roll a tank and make strenght dyes and quipment and dish out nice damage too
tyrr warrior is nice to play for pvp, strong warrior :d and awsome skills
archers do not **** like in prevorious chronicles

5 main class 99level can go oly dual class 99level give you dual class certs on main and 2 sub classes 80 level max give you sub class certs on main class

 

just to clear something up here - this site is also offical as is ncwest and the server also is official - the only difference is we are the official hosts for lineage2 for ru and eu and ncwest are the official hosts for lineage 2 na.

find a normal mentor , be active and lvl fast to the needed lvl so he can powerlvl you to 85 . ( with pa , all the free pots and runes u get from evo road + and a mentor who knows what hes doing youll be 85 in no time ) 85-86 is 2 days dailies + some trajans .
on 86 you get full armor set , jewlery set + a wepon of ur choice ( also sa into this wep is 2r gems and a life crystal ) so you get everything you need to start playing basicly for free . 0-86 is as newbie friendly as it can be . ( compared to what it used to be on the start of core )

after 86 you can start , playing as casual as you want but till then , be active , no mentor will waste his time powerlvling someone who logs once a week for 30 minutes .

 

hi again! sorry deepblue, i think i didn't express myself correctly! i know this is also the official lineage 2 forums! and i must say..what a server!!! i was playing yesterday and didn't experience any sort of lag, sailing in under an hour to level 20.

hanta, thanks for the tips! i am afraid i wont be able to play so often that a mentor will be interested in me, since i can only be online for a couple of hours a day usually, and some days the whole day. normally i am at work

does anybody know of a clan for more casual players who can't afford hardcore playing anymore? those days of 18h grind are long gone to me

most mentors will not be very concerned about your play times, since main reward (coins) they got from you leveling up, not from you being online all the time.
generally there is a lack of mentees, so you will have no problems finding mentor.

 

well, that is the best news i could have gotten i only tried the mentor/mentee system for a little while, but for what i saw it was a blast to level up with those buffs on!

 

pm excel or mail ingame we are active most peak times and are very casual

i have a doubt i'm sure many here can answer...since i dont have much time every day to play, i would like to have a class that can level up fast. i created originally a shillen knight (i love that class) but i realized after level 40 the newbie quests are over, and it will be grind so i thought perhaps it would be better to get a spell howler to reach 85 faster!

so, is it like that? or has the game changed in a way that lets all clases level up at about the same pace?

look for rb parties , they give huge xp . you can always find an rb and make a pt

 

hi, i'm as casual as you are. i can play few hours a day as well. i've just hit 86 level this morning. you can find daily quests until level 75 so don't worry, just don't waste time on it too much, go raid a boss this is your priority until you hit level 85, and you can earn ome adena if you are lucky in drops. transfer jobs and subclass quests are ridiculously easy 5-10 min. there are really friendly mentors, you just need to find one, who will accept your activity in game.
