    hello out there,

i always heard about lineage/lineage 2, but never started investigating real into zhe game, but now i wanted to give it a try. my first look was at a german page to pla lineage 2, but after the download was complete the server is "under maintenance" and my investigation in the forums (afterwards^^) tell me, that there is still no german server, which let me very astonished. ok, so i continued and discovered an eu version, which i am downloading at the moment, and i think it is the one lionked to this forum. but at the same time i discovered another lineage2 homepage, which seems perhaps the north american homepage.
so i am completely confused where to play now, which one is relly existing, and the "real lineage2"....
is the client i get from https://eu.4game.com/lineage2/play/ is the "good" one ?
can i play here in europe lineage2 and is it already in release or still some beta test ?
what is the difference to the other sites ?
and can i eventually change language in the eu client to germen ? although i try to speak english i prefer to play in german....
are there different server types (rp/pvp/pve) ? is there any "recently opened" server which may be the best
    choice ?
and when i am asking is there any guide for completely new players, having no idea where to start gathering info for lineage 2 ?
i played runes of magic before, but never tried wow, so if this helps to give me some info :)
    thanks a lot in advance

lineage 2 is officially hosted in america by ncwest - in europe and russia by us (innova) - so yes this is the "real" lineage 2 - no it is not in beta - it is a fully released game with continuing development and expansion. innova also are working on fully localized versions hence you will see the german and polish versions also hosted by us - those localized clients have their own localized servers, so, to play on german server you need german client, for polish server you need polish client, for the eu (international) version it is the client you are currently downloading. the clients are not interchangable between the servers. hope that cleared some doubts up in your head.

no there are not different server types, pve and pvp are not seperated, the game is designed with open world pvp in mind.

there are plenty of fansites some of which host their own lineage2 wiki's/databases, you can find some of them here - https://4gameforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20 there are also some guides written by other players which you can find here - https://4gameforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15

    regards and welcome.

i strongly suggest you play here on core and not on the north american servers, they are infested with bots and cheaters everywhere. you will find a much nicer player base as well as an amazing staff here, and since innova actually uses protection software cheaters are pretty much kept out.
