my opinion on mentoring system

hi guys and sorry if my english have some errors.

in my opinion this game would be a lot more attarctive if mentoring system was somehow less demanding and less stressful.

i cant understand the reason to leave my computer logged in the game constantly online just to be a good mentor.

i play another game and im thinking of returning to l2 now that classes have returned and play a bit from both of them.

but the fact that i have to be constantly online drives me back.
first and most important i want a healthy pc so i like turning it off at nights (already burned one pc so i had to buy a new one recently)

second i want good performance for the other game i play aswell so having to be online constantly reduces all my other activities.

i dont have any great suggestions of how to change the mentoring system i bet a lot guys have a lot better ideas than me ,
but what if mentors completed a daily or weekly mini task just to keep there mentees boosted.

i think the current state of mentoring is kinda unescesarry and i dont think it attracts players but it drives them away.

anyway this is just my worries.

you don't really need to be online 24/7. you have 2 choices: find a mentee , who is playing in your game time. or 2, announce your mentee you're logging off so he can go and take buffs from adventurer helper, which are the same now as there is a mentor on, except that he is losing 50% xp. noone is really forcing you to stay with your pc open all the time. also if you dc, the mentor system now is letting your mentee with his/her buffs 5 more minutes so he can reacts. if that is something that is conforting you, it was way worst before :d

 

well i dont wanna leave my pc either 24/7 on.i can have it online only afternoons till 00:00 and at weekends till earlie morning hours.this means ppl who play morning or all night at weekdays cant be my mentee.and since all ppl play those times i decided not to have mentee.its bad for me i know but its also bad to put a mentee and want to play some time i am not on and dont have 50% buff.i believe now that adventure give buffs as mentor the problem is only th 50% xp buff.before it was oa problem cause it was 200% but now i dont find it so hard xp without this 50%.but anyway its how ppl see it.i agree with sweetnight that you should find mentees and discuss with them about the hours you leave your pc.or if you dont come to an agreement you just dont have a mentee.

 

i dont think mentees negotiate gaming hours ,they will go for the one that is online constantly.

but oh well, if adventurer helper gives descent buffs it makes it a lot less painful for all of us.

ill try not bother with mentees and see how it goes, still in my opinion a flawed system id love to help my mentees while playing active than being afk ,but no game is perfect.

its general flaw of lineage designers - you also have to leave character oline to trade (and before ah it was the only way), and clan leader has to be online to provide clan buff.

 

@blueguardian - unfortunately these sorts of suggestions are better directed towards the developers of the game, innova are only the hosts of lineage 2 for the eu not the game developers. this section is for feedback related to innova's operations so it might be more advisable to voice your concerns about developed content directly to the game developers here
