ok. am i the only one, who is thinking that something is not right in it? i decided to give a chance of my crafter and to try the new crafting system in game (the low level one). so i decide to craft a spear s grade (the saint spear). i bought the recipe and i had a look of the materials and omg isn't it ridiculous. here is what 1 saint spare require: yes, there is no mistake, this is exactly what it requires. let's have a closer look at it. 21 adamantite (ah prize ~300 k) - spoil on 87+ mobs/drop 78+ (but very rare mobs with very low chance). 10 adamantite wire (no such item in ah) - no spoil/drop 77-78+ (same as above, 81+ hellbaund ridiculous low chance again). 9 weapon fragments mid-grade (3kk adena at ah if any) - spoill - 90+/drop (same as above) - upgrade/downgrade recipes - drop chance on 86+ mobs)... 7 synthetic cokes - (500 k on ah) - spoil 88+/drop - same as above. no info about recipes but they are probably the same drop chance and level as above... the other mats are easy... so is this the revamped crafting system, where you almost have no chance to farm your mats at your level to can craft something? i don't know how it is on higher level, but it surely not worth to craft s weapon.
everything till twilight is kinda pointless to craft, specialy weapons, unless yeah you like appearance, but still faster and maybe even cheaper to buy one instead of crafting
i have to admit the crafting system is still insanely broken and it probably won't have any impact until epeisodion is released. the weird fact is that even the korean developers stated that crafting won't come back until the next expansion because it was so useless in god. now they still keep the foolish 60% chance recipes which i have always found dumb. if you add all the time and energy spent to gather the materials to craft something and then have it fail... well, it kinda puts you off wanting to bother. for me the only real use of crafting is to make shots, aside from that it is still useless below level 90. the real killer was taking out the evolutionary road in place of the horribly broken steel door coin system which is more than useless. you can do all the quests, gather all the coins and still not be able to afford anything outside of maybe an s grade weapon; it bugs me that you cannot even trade the coins. at least in korea their players can buy the steel door coins using their pc cafe points, here you are pretty much screwed. crafting is still dead and will remain dead until ncsoft's developers finally realize that making things insanely hard to do will just drive the desire to do it away. i am a crafter from way back in c2 when crafting bridgadine helmets, shields, boots and gloves got me a ton of adena and having d grade meant you were either rich or a botter. :d
don't give me back this evolutionary road discussion... i have no problem leveling up (which is the idea of evo road equipment since they are 30~90 days (if i m not wrong) shadow items)... and since you can upgrade a weapon i can have and s spear if i wanted to with the new coins system (but again those are shadow items)... i wanted s spear to craft it and to have it... may be later sale it. also i never said that they are trying to bring back the craft with removing the evo road system... away from that offtopic, is it soo insane to craft items 90+? may be it wants mats that are dropping only from antharas a?
well, i guess developers underlooked the distribution of mats. but i think most crafting will happen for 95-99 level items anyway, so it is better to check their material balance and availability.
the weak point in your theory is "ah price" make the same calculation for grocery price of materials and you will see you can actually make profit from crafting. maybe at the moment it is hard to craft weapons because you can not get adamantite wire. the easiest items to craft are robe armors because metallic fiber and synthetic braid are easy to spoil (even though at lvl 90+). after some time when we get recipes for upgrade and combination of mats it will be easier for other items too.
my idea was that before, when we needed to craft something s grade, we could actually find materials in our level range by spoiling them. it is true we need less mats now and we don't really have a full information about the spoil yet, but the upgrade/downgrade recipes of this materials are lvl 11+ (rare 8+). how a dwarf on level 76 is suppose to craft s grade items if the idea was to revamp the crafting system? that is why and i'm asking the higher level dwarves how is it up there. may be on server with bots there are tons of materials already, but since we are humans this looks like mission impossible and moving on :d now in order to make an s grade weapon first i have to level up a 90+ spoiler to get the mats... this is the sad situation so far... or give tons of money to craft something, that if in future i want to sell it will cost less...
craft system its not bad. the problem is recipes to up/down materials. and the worst is no manor on server = no craft. with manor system you can make tons of mats and exchange it for new then upgrade! bring back manor = bringa back craft.
and the spoil system now, sos, swamp,s3 spoil rate too low, mby better one is in soa, but still, spoil also is kinda fcked up here :d not sure about 95+ levels but till that i dunno, tried everywhere, and most of the spots spoil rate was very low, and the mats i got was very cheap
my 2 cents are ( note : i haven't had time now to check for legit info) the crafting system right now is quite fine, but it is hard, what could fix this is that the manor system which currently have been untouched, but if they would revamp it up to newest materials, crafting would be easier, just like old times, manor made crafting a lot easier.
for other hand crafting needs : gem-s r + cry r so it is genering some cost {+ mats, keymats etc.} if craft will fail - [weapon/armor 99] next atempt is would be unprofitable {of cours it is not about all weapons...} for now you can craft... but what
