tags:[skills] [stats] [other game mechanics aspects] when the battle's getting tough, it is high time to debuff. but who knows, to what extent can the boss's stats descend? is it true that any hero can be just debuffed to zero? is there any line below? we will test and we will show. experiment 9 p.def and m.def decrease in pvp and in pve purpose: to check the maximum p.def. and m.def decrease for raid bosses, monsters and characters. experiment: in the test we use characters with some skills of other classes and a special gm buff. therefore, please pay attention to the used skills, damage amount and p.def. and m.def. values only. despite the fact that we had to change characters considerably, the following tests have let us to disclose the mechanics of p. def. and m.def. lowering. test 1. raid bosses' p.def. in the first test we decreased p.def of raid boss scarlet van halisha (frintezza). here are the damage values of the usual attack with a homunkulus' sword (acumen) ignoring damage scatter: nb: massive damage rate is caused by the fact that the character applied the super haste skill which significantly increases p.atk. and decreases cooldown time of physical and magical skills by 99%. test 2. raid bosses's m.def. in the second test we decreased m.def. of the same raid boss scarlet van halisha (frintezza). here are the damage amounts of normal attack with the elemental destruction skill and homunkulus' sword (acumen) ignoring damage variation: nb: in the following tests we checked the skills applied separately and in pairs, but as they worked and decreased p.def. and m. def., we didn't include them in the final table. test 3. monsters' p.def. in the third test we decreased p.def. of the monster orbis' guard. here are the damage values for normal attack with a homunkulus' sword (acumen) ignoring damage variation: test 4. monsters' m.def. in the fourth test we decreased p.def. of the monster orbis' guard. here are the damage amounts for normal attack with a homunkulus' sword (acumen) ignoring damage variation: test 5. characters' p.def. and m.def. in this test we decreased p.atk. and m.atk. of the characters. we conducted this experiment on characters of different classes with and without equipment, buffed and unbuffed. conclusion for pve: maximum damage increase: 2x. damage can be doubled through the p.def. and m. def. decrease in pve. in order to increase damage additionally, different monsters' resistance types should be reduced or characters' attack should be enhanced. characters' passive skills in pvp p.def. and m. def. may be reduced twice at the most (as in pve). nonetheless, the defense acquired with passive skills doesn't decrease. for example, wynn summoner has passive skills with m. def. bonus of 199 and 139 (in total, 338). then 686 m.def. points can (without accessories) be decreased down to 512 at the most. 686 - 338 = 348 points of m.def. are subject to decrease. we reduce them (348/2=174) and add the rest of the points which cannot be reduced (+338) = 512. this calculation has been confirmed by the tests. with accessories we managed to reduce m. def.. from 2061 to 1199, and 337 m.def. points were not subject to decrease (1 point was probably lost as residual by division or just wasn't displayed). as a wynn summoner without equipment doesn't have any p.def. bonus from passive skills, their defense was reduced twice (disregarding decimal fractions): from 101 to 50. another situation is with tanks' passive skills. for example, m. def. of a tank without equipment can be reduced from 264 to 208, m. def. of a tank with one ring - from 476 to 308, and m. def. of a tank with equipment can be decreased from 1731 to 900 (almost twice as less). in the first case we managed to cancel m.def. 56 points, like we were reducing m.def. from 112, and 152 out of 264 were not subject to decrease (which looks like a passive skill giving 158 m.def.). in the second case there were 140 points of m. def. which didn't go down, and in the third case only 69 m. def. points of an equipped tank's m.def. remained. conclusion: m.def. acquired as a passive skills bonus cannot be decreased (however, there are some minor exceptions). positive effects in pvp and pve buffs and own positive effects increasing defense can be neutralized by debuffs (their effect can be completely cancelled). that means that a wynn summoner's 101 p. def. can be decreased to 50, and even if we increase the defense with buffs up to 200, we'll anyway be able to reduce it with debuffs to 50. the test has proven that buffs' effects decrease in pve in a similar way.
i think most of people already noticed that in pve you can /2 pdef/mdef. the important answers are more in the pvp part and the differences with pve (explanation of the passive skills that cannot be reduced and how calculation is done)
for pdef seems that lumi +10hex + crippling is enough yes. then you can add debuff that will augment critical damage, some that will decrease other stats
why +10 lumi ? +0, 1lvl not enough? with +0 lumi 1lvl (-10%) and crippling 1lvl (-40%) it will be -50% p.def/m.def , it is not max? -50%?
yes, lumi+0 is enough with crippling. lumi +x hex is usefull in very few cases in pve, but shine in pvp, when you need to have much more %pdef/mdef reduction to be capped.
