tags: [other game mechanics aspects] a bow or a crossbow? arrows or bolts? we did a small check and wrote down some notes. which weapon is better we say: more or less the one with a larger rate of dps. purpose: to find out which weapons have better dps. attacker: yul trickster lvl.99, equipped with {tbody}{tr} {/tr}{/tbody} experiment: in order to find out the dps for skills and auto attack yul trickster attacked physical punch machine. damage variation was cancelled. we also made a selection of 10 attempts for each condition in order to minimize the influence of variation of critical attack frequency on the final result. you can find the average values for each condition in the table below. in the test where the dps for skills was being determined the skills were used upon cool-down. the results of the experiment can be seen in the tables below: conclusion: as you can see from the first table it is better to use a bow for maximum dps even though quick fire reduces p.atk. by 15%. as for the dps with skills the results for bow under quick fire and crossbow are very similar.
hum pretty interesting... i allways think that xbow have higger dps with autoattack than bow (just because the haste/+4bonus) but low dps on skills attack xd. tully, how can be that difference on dps (1st test) if both, xbow and bow(+quick fire) have almost same patak/atkspd?.... i dont understand that :s
the difference in first test is attributed to difference in 78 critrate and 5 p.atk spd and 124 p.atk ... in favour of bow
crit rate?... bow is with dmg up, not focus. i think that this test are not showing real accourate info... if u see, bow without quick fire, still have more dps :s... dont have sence with that atk spd difference
there is just one ting do understand: -p attack doesnt add significant dmg on skill, so its better to use crossbow for better attack speed.
i was talking about base crit-rate of weapons (from the top of my mind); i checked the base stats, and they are the same ... so indeed i was incorrect. so the damage difference is not directly accounted for by stats , but perhaps as dmg variation as snowyz noted
well... i think the way to go is a oe blessed crossbow, right now im pretty close to max atk spd without epics, but with 4% from sub, haste, +4, and fast shot (the old trickster selfbuff): without sigelâ´s aura its like 1,4k, with it 1,5k at lvl 4 buffs so yes, its the higger atk spd (and u noticed the atk spd on skill casting). usually ire allways on siege fire instance, since i didnt need atk spd. this week im doing some comparisions between bow and crossbow with the hero weapons event, and, the dmg coming from skill is almost the same, even with 3k more patak. maybe is because on test bow hit more crit hits than crossbow... but, still, i think that the crossbow with haste, compared to a bow with dmg up have better dps on autoattack. if u talking about base, bow have 10 crit rate, and crossbow have 12, so, isnt the same xd (u get higger crit rate with xbow than bow, if both are without focus ofc)
2 nd test - skill power. he used 5 skills, so there is no real info about dps, just about damage per 5 skills. can gm answer? how was 2 nd test made? 5 skills and over?
it`s a good test and clearly shows that bows have more dps , but let`s not forget that the attack speed of crossbows, decrease skill cast, so that you can stun your opponent, before he did 100k dmg with that bow on your glass ***on the other hand, when you hit 99 and oe "quick fire"....well, 30 seconds gives you a very good reason to run with the bow in the end everything depends on play style and i would say- use what feels better in your hands.
apo bow: 12 critrate base. apo xbow: 12 critrate base = same not? anyways too bad to see that i made a bad choice... i'm committed to xbows
i`m not wrong!i didn't said "all time", just 30 seconds.with 120 seconds reuse how can it be "all time".nvm, the truth is in my last words there
