it had been almost two years now since last time i played. last forum post dates back at 01.01.2012. it has been a while.

i came back to check out the game few days ago. less than a week even. cleaned dust of my lvl 78 shilen saint and started questing. found mentor & a clan really quick. i took me maybe 2 days to get to lvl 80 with primeval island quests i never finished, oren quests and daily quests.

with level 80 i lost the old daily quest and had no idea how to progress. my mentor wanted to help by power lvling me. we gave it a try for about 20-30min and i got easy 23%. i had no vitality left so we stopped. after reading some info on forum and in l2 wiki i found that i have a good daily quest on ketra. so i went to farm 50 + 900 quest items. my jaw dropped when i got 60% exp from killing mobs alone and another 40%+ from quest. drops from ketra covered shots cost ^_^

on level 81 i went to heine to do quests there. ketra was no longer an option. on field of whispers and field of silence there are two camps. each have daily quest. i did one full quest from fow (10 quality skins) npc and half the quest (only 5) from fos npc. i already forgot how many i did but it gave 282m exp for 10 skins (60% exp) :( once i got to level 82 i finished heine quests siding with fow lady.

i don't remember what my % was today on lvl 82 but it was over 50 - 60%. i decided to try something else. daily quest was pretty boring and i got alligator sickness :d so found raid camp party. we missed most raids probably and finally dedicated ourselves to liam or lian on fos.

after an hour and a half boss was nowhere to be found. only thing that happened was that akamanah came to kill us. i got bored and went to do my daily again.

doing the daily i got up to 70% exp and gave up at 5/10 skins. this gave me level. now i'm on level 83 ;d
more people came to camp the boss and akamanah came too. probably felt lonely. only boss was missing.

    my questions are:
    why do people camp raids?
how much exp does a raid give if everything is optimal and there is only one party?
is it more effective than doing daily quests (full, be it 50 + 900 or 10 skins or something else)?
what's the lifespan of a boss if someone knows its timer?
is there something else i'm missing or doing wrong?

it is good to be back in world of lineage ii :)

    1) judging from the amount of people going afk while camping, they want to level without having to play the game, so they join camp parties and go read a book/watch tv/browse the web.
    2) depends on boss and char levels obviously. roughly from 1 to 2.5 levels.
    3) depends on your luck. if a raidboss spawns 10 minutes after you start camping, it is more effective. if you camp for hours and there was still no boss, doing the quests would have been more effective. you will never know what is better beforehand.
    4) when a boss is camped and spawns, he will typically last for few minutes. if there is a camp party who has an orc with gate chant at the boss, the fight may start within some seconds of his spawn (unless that orc is afk, haha). and there is no "knowing the timer" because all raidbosses have spawns randomized. even when you know when a boss died, you may sit there and wait for hours without him respawning. the only thing knowing the "last death" time is good for is that if it has been less than 12 hours, you know you don't need to camp that boss as it will never respawn within the first 12 hours after dying.
    5) if you missed this one, the sel mahum daily quest (81+) ist the quickest to do if you want to do those kinds of quests, because the mobs respawn superfast and are packed close. be sure not to use aoe when killing them, kill them one by one. it should give you around 500m xp when you collect all the 900 bonus quest items.

honestly xping>raids unless you cant dedicate yourself to stay at pc at all times.
even at low lvls raiding is pointless as you can lvl from 40 to 65 in matter of 1-2 hours depending of class+you are actually going to make some money.
obviously if you get lucky with respawns and group which is too much of a gamble imo you will level faster than xping solo, but in 99 cases out of 100 solo xping will be faster.

daily quest were very effective. i managed to hit 85 yesterday and then awaken. time to think of a good subclass now.

i have developed a mental scar for alligators and crocodiles thanks to fow and fos daily's.

i didnt read it all, but the best place for lvl up is sel mahum, with a wynn on defensive pet. so u hit one and pets kill 1 be 1 and quest will by 1-1 rate (aoe reduce the chance of get q item).

nothing more to do. (well if u get a pt for a 76+ raid the better ofc)

well if you came back before lindvior, i assure you that even you would be sitting your @ss down waiting for those raid bosses :p before lindvior rbs gave 2,3,4,5 or even 6 lv (yes ive gotten 6 lvs from 1 rb, i think it was skylancer :d, not on core btw). anyway now they nerfed the xp they give so waiting for hours just for 1-1.5 lv is pointless. if youre not in a hurry to lv up like an idiot and awake, and then farming and xp again like an idiot missing all the fun, to become one day 97+ and be a total noob asking why there are 2 healers in a pt and be still on immortal gear, like 80% of this server, then take your time like i do and enjoy your daylies. i started about 2 months ago, played a bit, quit for a month, now i started again :) no hurry, lineage doesnt go anywhere :p
