[other game mechanics aspects] 95 - i'll survive! 96 - dirty tricks! 97 - straight to heaven! 98 - just you wait! 99 - that's divine! that's how, folks, you level up. will the test be useful? yup. in this experiment, we shall check how character’s level affects his\her damage in pvp and pve battles. attacker: tyrr titan of lvl 99-95 (depending on a take), no buffs applied. equipped with bound specter slasher (focus), attack type / heavy seraph set. pvp target: tyrr titan of lvl 99, no buffs applied. equipped with bound specter slasher (focus), attack type / heavy seraph set. pve target: adios (guard) of lvl 99. during this test, we did plain attacks with constant damage while decreasing the attacker’s level and writing down his p. atk and damage done. you can find the results in the table below: levelp.atk.pvppve995628133105985612133105975596132849655801326495538012649 note: when decreasing the level of attacker to 95 his skills get reset. that is why the decrease of p.atk is so large. conclusion: the results show that 4 lvl difference in pvp does not affect the damage done (it decreases because of p.atk). in pve the penalty is significant, and damage drops when the difference in lvl becomes more than 2.
so in other words if mob is white than 0 dmg penalty. if mob yellow ~20% dmg penalty. and if it's light red almost 50% or even more.
well about pve it is working like this since h5 at least (i guess even longer). remember first frinteza hardly done with 5 parties + - 80 lvl and then in 1,5 pt at 85 quite easy.
it would have been interesting to see also how damage difference is when a 99 level hit a 99-98-97 etc. bacause with this experiment you say "go on 95+ you can compete with 99", while i wonder how a 96 level with almost top mdef jewels can be dualshotted by a healer 99, happened to me last coc. so i bet is a question of skill critical increase with level? i'd like to know.
you got dualhitted with your "top" mdef jewels( i would like to know what u call top) cause ppl is getting 10k dmg from healers.
actually from 97 no big difference but 99 is still much better ofc. anyway the question is who was that healer. :d also in coc there is an item with half kill or something.
