hello iv been having a problem with scenes that pop up during certain quests for example the seven signs has a cut scene or slide show or something like that and it shows up with just the subtitles running but no sound at all... although at the start of the game like when i was level 1 the scene that pops up had sounds in it they were working but after that they pretty much don't give out any kind of sound and i did check my settings the sounds are all on hell i can hear the hits the foot steps pretty much anything in game except the scenes so i was wondering if anyone knows a way to fix it any help would be really appreciated

if certain audio is played and another is not then the reasonable guess is: corrupted files, unreadable disk surface or file access denied.

you may want to repair your game to fix potential file corruption, copy (not move) the entire game to another directory to exclude disk surface errors (if no read error pops up) and as for the last one certain protection software likes to lock files for a real-time check rendering them temporarily unaccessible until a real-time scan is finished, hard to say if the game doesn't tell you the error code.

hope that gives you an idea or better, helps you.

last minute idea, i'm not sure whether the game has built-in audio decoders or uses the system ones.
if the audio types in those two kinds of movies are different and the decoder for the second one is not installed that would make sense, that's if the game doesn't use its own decoders.

thanks for trying to help iv tried what you suggested but it seems it's still showing the scenes without sounds so it could be that they need a decoder i just wish i knew what it was

oggvorbis for the music and some other sounds likely.
for uax the game has to have the internal decoder.
the usm (movies) seem to be mpeg/wav mixed packages, a generic mpeg decoder comes with the windows system i believe, and the wav seems not to be compressed, therefore requires no decoder for processing.
hard to say what's wrong there.
