good evening ladies and gents, i started to play lineage 2 yesterday and it is a really nice game. i am enjoying myself a lot with my level 24 human knight. i also want to level a mage kind of char but i am really unsure as to which i should choose. what would you recommend for a total newbie who has no friends ingame right now (ok am trying to get some sympathy and maybe some clan wouldn't mind taking a homeless puppy in *grin). anyway every tip is highly appreciated. are there by any chance clans willing to take in complete newcomers like myself? cheers, warev
this server is gonna be dead in 2, 3months max, only old ( gameplay old ) rich players and daily gf/kartia players will stay, if u want to play l2, find some interlude 30rate or wait few months for archage
don't listen to the guys above trying to demotivate you. there's a little bit of truth in what they say though, the server is having more and more of regular pay2win options for people who can just buy things and have a chance to obtain an item which others need to farm in one of the top 2 clans on the server with 150+ people in one command channel (such a large party setup). the game basically is uneven until you reach quite a high level, usually 97, mostly 99, then you need a dual class at level 95 to have a minimum-decent passive skills for your main character. then you need to farm for your equipment, then pimp it with pvp options, ehchants etc, get epic jewelery and so on. that stuff is super expensive and it's just not possible to farm it all in a reasonable period of time, i mean normal instance/mob farm, especially solo or in random parties. the game basically turns into long-time tiresome farm, unless you're willing to pay some serious euro, or a few euro if you're extremely lucky. and of course i assume you have premium account, without it the levelling takes around twice as much time. this game is all about pvp (player vs player), some people prefer pve (player vs environment) and if you happen to choose the pve and aren't planning on engaging in pvp much then you're gonna like the farm, in this case enjoy your game, you should not feel any disbalance. but, if you're here for pvp, all of the above applies.
lineage 2 is a beautiful game. but these are not its glory days definitely and also it will be really really hard for a completely new player to get settled in it. indeed try to not get de-motivated from what the guys said above because we have many years of experience with it and we want different things than a newbie. what beer said above pretty much summarises the game's situation atm but well for a completely new player i do not think you can compete in pvp yet so i do not think what happens currently in the game with the l2 stoe will affect you much. i made a guide for leveling which is this one https://4gameforum.com/showthread.php?t=27981 . i think it will be usefull in your case. if you need something else ask. you can also contact me ingame via pm or mail. i like helping noobs :d
thanks for the update guys. i levelled my dark avenger to 41 but now i am more or less puzzled as in how to summon my black panther. i need some kind of crystal for that but i cannot find it anywhere. do i need to have a dwarven char for that so he can break down certain things for these crystals? cheers.
