Useless to play tank ?

hello. i stopped playing at the end of lindvior and now im planing to get back and have some fun. i love to play tank but i noticed something disturbing for me.tank's are rejected in most farm pts.i even saw lots of pts for octavis and none of them wants tank.i see pts runing with 3 healers and no tank.is the tank class not needed anymore? it become useless? i only ask because i like to play the class but if none needs me i dont wanna play solo.lf some info

 

depends, lot of areas / instances can be farmed without tank, so ppl prefer take extra heal/dd. octavis is generally farmed by 1 single party with 1-2-3 wynns.
but loc / cr / hb / soh generally ask for tanks.

 

parties with 3 healers aren't the best setup imo. tanks are really a must have in party , just because of the defensive skills and for party solidarity !!

 

why u would even wait and join some octavis party , just make one yourself .. if u can't find party, make one yourself .. tank maybe is not needed like in past ,but still

 

ok but where as i tank i can farm sp except the daily quest's(karita, baylor etc..)i see no hb partys anywhere and at dw none is taking tanks also

 

make your pt.

 

you can create your own warp parties, with a team like feoh-feoh-iss-tank, or feoh-yul-iss-tank. it's maybe not the most op composition, but it sure as hell cleans first stage pretty fast (which is all you need to farm sp, tbh)

 

welcome, i am tank aswell, and atm is quite useless class. thats why they are boosting us since lindvior in every update... but we are still a bit behind.

3 healers setup is better than 2 healers and 1 tank, if the 3 healers are well geared and they have enough teamplay for pvp.
in pve, now days most of instances u dont need to tank nothing, just run around, so for what u take tank?

i am sure that without the importance of the hero tanks, almost half of people would stoped to play this class.

 

i see. so i guess its better to rerol for me coz i have no ambition and time to even dream to make hero someday.its sad coz i like to play as tanker...

 

stay as tank if you like to play that class. they are not useless if you know how to play them. but yeah better create your own partys

 

i didn't see any 3 healers setup on amc so i think you're wrong

 

play it only if u rly like it the class.

 

because the limit for healers in amc is 2 per a team.
but i think proper tank + 2 healers > 3 healers

for pvp setup tank + 2 healers is the best (in my opinion and experience). tank is not useless at all and if you enjoy to play it, keep it.
pve matters is normal that people prefers an extra dd instead of the tank to make the things faster.

as mentioned before, if you really have troubles finding party for daily stuff, try to make yourself the party or join/make a cp :d for sure you won't have troubles to make the daily things like that

 

same opinion. i prefer tank in a pvp pt than 3 healers. for pve dd instead of tank but doesn't really matter in most of the instances. for open ground pve tank is necessary, not everywhere ofc and depends on the dds. i've never had a problem finding or creating a pt as a tank.

 

while overall people will say tank is good on most pvps, tank main-ers themselves do not agree as much, at least the experienced ive met feel the class lacks in the current "meta" and are waiting for updates to get back up, with the change on auras.

i find tank rly fun to play, however it's not fun when 70% of time, ur skills are resisted/immune against/reflected. it completetly dumbs down your contribution to the party play. the only garanted thing there is on a tank's kit is the "trasnfer pains" (sacrifice/party ud/pt rescue).

depend on what u run around ....ppl also rezist 1%.... sometimes

 

once i go zerk, my debuff bar is clean for 1minute and 5 seconds. that lol tank wont stop me from mass stunning the **** out of ppl.
