    this topic has been brought to light several times in the history of lineage, since c4 the gamma and brightness of the client has been messed up. from adjusting the gamma on your entire computer, to being too bright and washing out the colors of the game people have been complaining about this for ages.

    a quick search of the forums reveals this problem was brought up in 2011. the topic states the initial issue as it is today. the gamma settings of the game adjust the brightness of your entire computer without your involvement. in fullscreen, or for those with only one monitor, this problem seems moot. you don't see the rest of your computer while playing the game, and you don't have the issue. however, using multiple monitors, or smaller windows, shows this glaring issue full blown.

    the scary part is: there is a fix.

    a long time ago someone figured out how to get into the *.ini files for the game. they found that a simple adjustment of the file could relieve all their woes. the ultimate question now is: is there a way to fix this now. with a proper support team, such as is present here, i would assume there is a possibility of a resolution.

    (taken from another post containing these parameters, located here)
    Code:
    [windrv.windowsclient]
    windowedviewportx=1680
    windowedviewporty=1050
    fullscreenviewportx=1680
    fullscreenviewporty=1050
    menuviewportx=640
    menuviewporty=480
    brightness=0.800000
    contrast=0.700000
    gamma=0.800000
    you can see the bottom three values are the ones to blame, and in my experience changing the values to such:

    Code:
    brightness=0.500000
    contrast=0.500000
    gamma=1.000000
    fixes all issues. is there anyway we could get a sanctioned .ini file with these values defaulted in? or at least some other kind of work around. i would be most appreciative.

    unfortunately the modifications of game client files is not permitted by ncsoft either by yourselves or ourselves. we are only the hosts of the game and not the developers so your question is something that would be better directed here
