Low fps due to Video Cache Size limit.

for anyone that has ever experienced or still experiences issues with low fps, regardless of the fact that your machines far surpass the requirements for lineage 2 - don't be alarmed, the issue is not with your computer, it is with the game.

this problem is caused due to the fact that the default video cache size for l2 is set to 32mb. in other words, the game uses only 32 mb of your video card's ram in order to run. this is made so that lower end pcs can start up the game, seeing that if this limit is set higher, weaker machines will not be able to run the game at all.

before god, a simple line change in the l2.ini file, where the above was modified, vastly improved performance. however, this is no longer possible as those files have been encrypted and cannot be changed. aside from that, editing of the game files is considered a breach of the eula.

it was discussed some time ago but for some reason developers are not willing to change that, pity.
