    and yet another battle.
    for yet another necklace.
you challenge what you can’t -
    you’re either dumb or reckless.

In this experiment we will try to identify the damage penalty while fighting with high level monsters.

Attacker: Yul Sagittarius with levels changing from 85 to 94, with all 85 level abilities. Equipment: [IMG] Focus blessed apocalypse thrower.

During this experiment Yul Sagittarius will be attacking a 94 level monster - Moon Gardener. He will use basic attacks, damage spread will be switched off with system command (attacks always deal same damage). All common and critical damage values are put into table.

Conclusion: as we can see from the test results, the damage penalty increases significantly with the level difference. There is no penalty with 1 level difference, when monster is marked as white. The slight damage difference can be explained by physical attack increase with each level.

afaik you don't get xp if you kill red mobs, so it's pointless to hit them.

not exactly true. what matters is not mob name's colour but level difference.
you get no xp from mob 11+ levels higher than yours, but there is a "serious xp penalty" from mobs ranging 10-3 level higher, which proportionally increases with level difference. also, remember that there are 2 "reds", the darker and the ligher, which are not labeled in this experiment.

note: this applies to level 85+, level below have different mechanics.

and lets hope that after this thread none will take dd's under lvl 90 in s3 anymore
bcz everytime its the same **** with my alts ,stupid pl makes pt invites bunch of lvl 87 players
complains that dmg is too low, ends up dismissing pt bcz it cant even kill 2 groups on respawn
time wasted,xp pots wasted all bcz of players who are misinformed about game mechanics.

btw is there any way i can link threads into game ? this topic would really help

while what you say makes some sense (knowing game mechanichs helps a lot for better in-game experience), remember that even low levels need to exp, and 2-3 proper dds in s3 will do just fine, leaving place for tank/heal/buff and possibly another char even if their level isn't on par.

if not optimized parties bother you that much there is a simple solution: open party room and set desired level range. if you just join whatever party is there atm, then you shouldn't complain about it not suiting your expectations.

this is a repeat experiment of 2012.

did it stop anybody from taking lv87s to nornils cave for the last 3 years? nope.

incidentally, the old test also shows that there is no bonus for being higher level than the mob.
