Stop using Cogent as trafic carier.

after few investigation because i'm sick of lagging really bad, i've decided to make some tracert. first of all, at first tracert i've find my routing passing by a well known european router named fra0x.atlas.cogentco where the x (in the fra0x) is a number in the backbone routing bay based in frankfurt in a well known place.
since a few time (well better said lots of times) cogent take the europeans for money that to be milked and takes money from their isp to not cutting their peering. almost all of the europeans are using a node between opentransit (formelly known as orange/and some other european isp transit carrier) and cogent wich is screwed because cogent want money from isp to carry their trafic, and apply a politics a cutting peers.
since it's seems you're using a cogent solution, my best advice if you want to stop lags on your servers for europeans players is to change your solution to telia based, or opentransit based solutions.
most of the well known mmo games providers have stop using cogent for their europeans customer because they are a problem source that cannot be solved, put weird qos rules and such other things that do not appears on tracert logs and many other things that you cannot see. rather than this, if it's seems to be repaired, it's still not because of 2 qos rules they puts : first it's icmp ping priorization, this means even if you ask to people to ping your servers, pings will seems normal put on server ports the lags will remains the same. second is 80 port forwarding, dpi and priorization of web trafic over any others. this means if you ask peoples to use a full tunnel, it will not solve anything because they unpack the packets with their dpi modules and can back route them or put them in queue because it's not http but other things packed http.

the provided screenshot of tracert will show you how it runs between my standard fai and my vpn provider regarding this problem. don't take peering and trafic carrier for small issue : they actually are plague for most european customers. level3 is even worst than cogent and the 2 best carrier are actually telia and opentransit for europe zone.
