Battle Ping / WTFast

Hi there,

first of all I'm not sure this is the right session for this kind of post. If isn't please forgive me and move it somewhere else

I just wanted to know if it would be legal to use the names programs, BattlePing or WTFast.

If yes, do they work here on Core? And if they work, how did you do that? Because as far as I know those programs don't always work in every server.

some tells it works, for me personaly it doesnt help just increase ping by almost 1.5 time
problem with this server is that it uses 5 reroutes untill u reach destination.. so if u have ping like 500ms then maybe it will work.. when i have 40-50 using wtfast results in 70-80

 

Ping is not the only parameter you need to check when using a program like WTF / BP, your route to the server matters the same if not even more when trying to connect to the server and I will try to explain shortly why

You can check your connection to the server when you have any kind of lags and you will check that most of the times you will be losing packets at some of the points of your connection from your home to the server (Personally myself I'm losing like 50-80% packets when I'm lagging, always near server so it's not my fault), when that happens, it means that you're lagging rly hard, but using one of this programs maybe will increase your ping as cmec said, but it will also result in a cleaner route from your computer to the server, not only that but usually less crowded also, which means your packets won't be lost and you will have close to 0% packet loss (1-5% packets loss max usually when using this programs is totally fine), so in the end you can play w/o problem. If you ever experience lags just use the tools that tech-support recommends in this server in another of our forums (basically WINMTR doing the test to geo.l2.eu) and you can easily check what's going on and why

Those programs are totally legal, since those are not interacting with your character at all ingame, it just let you play with less problems and it's totally nice to use them, everyone has been using them at some point without any kind of problem and yes they do work in Core.

About how to use them, about BP I never used it, but WTFast it's quite simple, you just need to check the option to use your browser in order to trigger the server application (since the logging is done via website in this server) and you will have no problem, there should be few guides even in this forums somewhere, just use the seatch function or even google (something like innova eu wtfast should be more than enough)
