[21.08.2017] Fishing event preview

This is a PREVIEW of what's waiting for us (hopefully) tomorrow already at Core and Ramona.

Planned Dates: 22/08 - 03/09
Planned Mechanic:
1) You get special bait from NPC in Heine.
2) To get special bait you'll need to buy a coupon in L2Store.
3) There are 5 types of bait divided by level: 85, 95, 99, 102, 105. You can use the bait at the chosen level and above, for example, at lvl 98 you can use bait 85 and 95, but not 99, 102 or 105. These baits can be used to complete Fishing Faction quests.
4) You'll be getting chests and fishing coins + XP and SP for every successful fishing attempt.

5) Fishing coins can be exchanged for special rods that give XP/SP bonus and shorten the fishing time.
6) Chests contain rewards from R gemstones to Tauti's Fragments.

The detailed description of rewards will be given in the official event announcement tomorrow.
Attention! Fishing is available only for users with active Premium Account option.

Event Status: tested on our test servers, ready to be installed on August 22.
If everything goes right we expect to install this tomorrow during maintenance.


IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
This event preview is an attempt to organize better info flow between the team and the community as a result of the feedback given in previous discussions on the forums. I believe this will help players to organize their time and exping better and see what's being done for the server. I hope you understand that in a case of negative feedback we have the right to stop posting previews and go back to "100% proven info only" mode.

NOW, if you support this attitude, please put a like (it's a good idea to support people here with likes anyway) and give me a comment below if you have any questions.

P.S. I plan to keep posting previews about other events in the future at the moment when I give confirmed info about them. Sometimes it will be as late as now, sometimes earlier.

better show what is rewards, and or it's worth to spend money for this event... cuz if it's like r gems - tauti fragments aka 500k -1b rewards it's not worth attention and for exp... 103 or 105.. no big difference after all.. 106 will be maybe after 2 years..

 

Ramona needed the old fishing event because those rewards are essential on a new server, the new one that gives basically only good exp and way worse rewards will only increase the gap between those who can afford fast 105 lvl and the rest.
That might be happening due to laziness for not having two different events running simultaneously on Core/Ramona.

 

you mean rich become richer. and poor peoples never get better gear?

 

The first fishing event gives some good items in big amounts, whoever fish and get the rewards eventually trades/sells most of the stuff and it helps the market a lot, not to mention that some inflation on Ramona would help at this early stage.
Comparing that to the new fishing event which has bad/low chance rewards and it gives almost 5 times more EXP(102-105), I think the new one benefits the "rich" more.

 

Any idea how many % i can get at 105lv if i use 1k 105lv baits? Someone know? Thx

I appreciate the notice in advance, however, 1 day is not enough to do anything.
I have been reading the russian forums and dreading the time when this event will come here too, but not even in my darkest nightmares could have imagined will be so soon after the other one.
This event is only for L2Store people. With the old one, the general public could, with a lot of effort, use the baits to level and recover some or all of the money. It also didnt instantly put biggest spenders to level 105, a lot of time fishing was needed, also, as someone said before, it provided critical items at reasonable prices for most people to enjoy at least pve.
Now all l2store users will be 105 and there will be no way for the others to catch up even in level, not to mention gear.
This will further disconnect the server into 2 worlds. The world of heavy ebayers which will be fewer and fewer because griefing low level poorly geared people is not fun in the long run and the "bottom feeders", people which play classically, some premium, some trades, some gear done in events or with a hundred or so invested in a month, which will have enough of the gaping wound in their pride and/or wallets so will also quit.
I will stay, and most people in my clan, hardened veterans, used to be rolled over in botland for years and for which this server was paradise and now is heading towards "since there is nothing better...".
We (the "bottom feeders") all fear the moment when the mismanagement of events and greed will drive the population to levels which will not justify running the game anymore, and this event brings that moment closer by many months, maybe a year.

 

to catch up on level is matter of time. same for gear. exp from 103 to 104 maybe is slow.. but 104 > 105 will be fast enough because of 100% passive xp buff... and for event rewards... at least something useful.. now there was only 2, if i'm not wrong, frenzied tauti fragments in auction (that one in giran), and only 1 kelbim. tauti fragments price was ~20b which is normal.. but kelbim... someone bought it for 90b.. my whole gear is not worth that price.. and this is just 1/11 part of the weapon...

edit: didn't saw prices for packs... rewards nice. prices... no comments.

First, while, in theory, you could get those, chance is very low, if this is the russian event, second, tauti is for pvp (except titan/sos combo) and people which PvP dont need tauti for that, they have their greater jewels for it.

The shadow weapons, though, may be interesting if, and that is a big if, the drop rate is serious enough, i.e. after event we have some 2-3 hundreds of improved shadow weapons so most active people can do PvE at a low cost.

The things that will be sorely missed, are the armors though, this event gives no armors (if we are to get the same ru event) and, while the weapon is very important in PvE and shadow ones do give a decent amount of HP, OE armors, such as +6 and +8 blessed ones were relatively cheap due to the old event and many people could afford one if they invested enough time and effort in it, heck, we could afford even +10 PvE without L2store after a few months of play and trade, but that will no longer be possible as the supply of armors is lower and lower as the old baits are disappearing.

This event does NOT, and I mean it, bring many items and does not help the economy, it is an EXP sale for the lazy rich, pure and simple.

P.S. Confirmed, this is the ru event, may god rest Core in peace.

 

I think MaoMao wrote what a lot of people are thinking about silently, by themselves. The deadline of quiting the server becoming more and more close with those paying events (and jokes with Galup "event").
But I want to remind also the other part of why this deadline looks closer - it's ignorance of forum posts. As example I will give situation from "Holidays" topic, when the first info about fishing event showed up.

I don't like to write too much in the forum, but even when I decide to do it, it's always no reply, so maybe you need to buy more L2 store to get replies?

i have no idea where u see problem in armors..
half year ago +10 set was costing 70-80b, now its 50-60
r95 +8 cost was 12-13b, now its 6-8
tw prices didnt change but tw is only for boxes..

No, atm we don't plan any bare "x2" event.
