dunno what i did but its all me . I somehow changed my camera settings and cant find how to change them back . The problem is i dont see monsters or players in the distance , only in the immediate area . please help
If the camera is stuck on ur toon then click "page up" on ur keyboard. If you mean you can't see mobs and players around you then go to the lower-right corner of ur screen, open the General menu > Options (you can do alt+shift+o to get there with keyboard) > Video. On the right side of the window you will see PC/NPC range and Display Limit. Set both to Very Wide and MAX and you're good. Also check lower on that screen if you're "Optimize performance" is on, you might have miss click alt+p that trigger the lower performance that automatically drops graphic quality to low to improve game performance (usefull during mass pvps. That doesn't exist in essence so just for fortress due to the massive mobs/players on ur screen).
