L2 doesn't work on Win 8

the developers at ncsoft have been contacted on the issue and we got to know that they plan to fix this problem with another patch as soon as possible.
the problem is not unique to europe, it's happening on other territories too. the developers are doing their best to solve the problem, however exact dates, unfortunately, remain unknown. early next week is marked as the latest.

another update for all pa-users with win 8 problem:

your pa was put on hold on 25th december so that you wouldn't lose the days of your pa.
once the problem with windows 8 compatibility is solved, the remaining days of your pa will be active once again. however, we would ask you to write a ticket to support when you decide to use the remaining pa again.

nb: if you had no problems with win 8 (there are cases reported) or managed to somehow keep on playing lineage 2 (thus, kept using your pa), there will be no remaining pa days allotted to you.

news from the developers is that the problem, unfortunately, continues to exist and is unstable since some win 8 users are reported to play the game. however, the cause of the issue seems to be detected and the way to solve the problem is found, it's just going to take some time.
