Experiment 31 Tyrr Warrior's Giant Punch and knockdown success rate

    yumi was sitting in her favourite tavern, at her favourite table, sipping her favourite ale, doing her favourite thing - drawing a scheme of a new mechanism that should become a revolution in castle or fortress defense.

    the tavern was very cosy, lit with warm golden light and filled with merry chatter. yumi's table was a small one in the corner, not far from the large fireplace, that roared with fire, it seemed, all year round.

    yumi was deep in thought when she was pulled back to reality by particularly loud shouts.

    'what did you just call me?!' barked a tall, massive orc.

    'you heard me. only a coward could do something like that! and you ain't got enough brains not to tell anyone about it!' answered a dwarf with bushy beard and two scars on the right side of his face.

    'you'd better shut your mouth or i'll shut it for you!'

    'oh yeah, big boy, bring it on then!'

    with a deafening roar the orc launched himself onto the dwarf, his eyes ablaze with rage. a violent brawl broke out in the middle of the room. chairs and mugs and bottles went flying, with more people joining the havoc without any particular reason.

    yumi hastily collected her schemes and drawings. and right in time she did so, because the next moment a body smashed right onto her table, breaking it in two. luckily, yumi was not harmed.

    she started making her way along the wall to the exit, clasping her papers to her chest and dodging flying objects.

    she could already reach the door handle. the last thing she saw before escaping was the orc sending the dwarf into an undoubtedly painful, but glorious knockdown.



    purpose: reveal the knockdown chance when using tyrr warrior’s [​IMG] giant punch skill under different conditions.

    character: lvl 99 tyrr warrior, dwarf, equipped with [​IMG]amaranthine dual sword.

    in one of the tests the dwarf was wearing jewelry: blessed antharas’ earring, blessed zaken’s earring and top-grade resistance earring – knock back/knock down (from the ceremony of chaos).

    target: lvl 99 tyrr warrior, orc. completely unequipped.


    • test 1

    in the first part of the experiment the dwarf attacked the orc using his giant punch skill, landing 1,000 blows for each enchantment level of the [​IMG]feral ogre cry skill (0, +5 and +10 chance knockdown) that the dwarf was buffing himself with. here are the results:

    conclusion: although enchanting the feral ogre cry skill to chance knockdown increases the chances of knocking down the enemy while using the giant punch skill, this increase is rather slight: the skill being enchanted to +10, the success rate only increased by 2% (10% against the initial chance).


    • test 2

    in the second part of the experiment we wanted to see whether the knockdown chance depends on str. the str value was set to 100, then to 200. the dwarf attacked the orc with the giant punch skill, landing 1,000 blows for each str value. here are the results:

    conclusion: when using giant punch, the knockdown chance does not depend on str.


    • test 3

    in our third test we wanted to see how jewelry enhancing mental attack influences the knockdown chance when giant punch is used. the dwarf was wearing blessed antharas’ earring and blessed zaken’s earring. he landed 1,000 blows with the giant punch skill on the orc with and without jewelry. here are the results:

    conclusion: the knockdown chance when using giant punch does not depend on jewelry that enhances mental attack. thus, we can conclude that the giant punch skill is not a mental attack.


    • test 4

    in our final test we wanted to see if a ceremony of chaos earring influences the knockdown chance. here are the results:

    conclusion: when one uses the giant punch skill with a top-grade resistance earring – knock back/knock down equipped, the knockdown chance goes up. however, contrary to the earring description which says the knockdown chance increases by 20%, it actually only increases by 5-7%.

    yumi, could you answer for 1 my question?

    how did you try those skills on target? 1 by 1 every coldown? (what is the coldown btw?) i am asking because of this "debuff rule" which is working liek it:

    1) if you manage to put knock back / knock down / pull effect on target next try within 30 some seconds (not remember 15 or 30?) target get extra defense +30% for next this skill

    2) if you hit target with debuff again (even with +30% resist) next time target got +70% extra defense for incoming the same knock back / knock down / pull effect on target.

    3) if during this period you were able to put same debuff one more time this time target will get some seconds total imunity for this debuff.

    i ask because as you see if skills has short coldown (or you reset it somehow with gm powah due to tests speed) some numbers could be affected by this debuff resist rule. did you take it under consideration? : )

    so the formula is : base_land_rate + base_land_rate * 0.2

    yes, i did take this hidden resist/immunity into account when carrying out the test. however there might be slight innacuracy which doesn't affect the results significantly.
