tully was sitting at his desk in the study where he was scribbling down the results of his latest range of tests. the sky was dark outside, so was tully's study except for the area around his desk, lit by the desk lamp.

suddenly, somebody knocked on the door and, without waiting for an answer, opened it and entered the room.

'i'm done for today, come tomorrow,' said the dwarf his eyes still focused on the paper.

'oh, i'm sorry, i didn't know,' said a gentle female voice.

tully stopped writing and raised his head: before him stood a very good-looking kamael lady. tully stared at her in surprise.

'i'm sorry if i'm disturbing you, i didn't mean to,' she said in her song-like voice.

    tully continued to stare.

'i'm sorry, are you all right?'

'huh? ah, yes, yes, i'm fine, totally fine. but i'm afraid i'm not receiving any more visitors today,' tully came round.

'oh. what a shame. i've come such a long way,' the lady sighed.

    tully felt bad.

'i thought i'd visit the most famous inventor in the world,' as she spoke, she started to move slowly towards tully.

'ahm. i'm very sorry...' replied tully. for some reason it felt somewhat hot in the room.

'is there a slight chance you could make an exception?' the kamael asked, coming closer, and looking tully straight in the eye.

'i... err... i'm afraid...' tully found himself slowly retreating.

'oh, i refuse to believe there is nothing you can do.'

    she was dangerously close.

'i,err, you see, err, the thing is... it's just that... i mean... under the circumstances...' said tully and felt a wall pressing against his back. tully was sweating. there was nowhere to run.

'mister tully. please, one tiny little request from me, hm?' she said and tully could not stand the intense look of her beautiful eyes, that were not that far from his, and her disarmingly charming smile.

'mmm, okay,' he breathed out, giving in.

'great! thank you so much! so what i wanted to ask is...'

in this test we will determine whether [IMG] mental shield, jewelry giving resistance to mental attacks - [IMG] top-grade resistance earring - mental attack and [IMG] royal guard earring - i, as well as the character's men and con values affect the success rate of [IMG] lightning disarm.

characters: 2 lvl 99 tyrr warriors, female kamael.

test: in each of the tests the attacker used [IMG] lightning disarm against the target 1,000 times.

equipment and buffs: in test 1 both characters were unequipped, without tattoos or any buffs. in test 2 the target was buffed with [IMG] mental shield. in test 3 the target was buffed with [IMG] mental shield and equipped with two earrings giving resistance to mental attacks, ([IMG] top-grade resistance earring - mental attack and [IMG] royal guard earring - i. the conditions for test 4 were the same as those for test 3, plus the target had 199 men, while in test 5 the target character's con was increased to 199 as well (keeping the buff and earrings).
note that the character initially had 37 men and 80 con.

the results are shown in the table and diagram below.

    {tbody}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tr}{/tbody}
    testland rate99 vs 99 82.3%+m (mental)85.1%+m+e (earring)90.1%+m+e+men (199)85.2%+m+e+men+con (199)71.8%
to make the results look more graphic, we have put them in a diagram:

conclusion: as one can notice from the results, [IMG] mental shield, the earrings used and men have practically no impact on [IMG] lightning disarm land rate. the only result that stands out from the rest of the figures is the one obtained in the con test. however, a closer look at the diagram will make it clear that the other results differ from one another as well, though not so significantly. moreover, considering the fact that the con value used in this test was extremely high and virtually unattainable in normal conditions, it is impossible to protect oneself from disarm by increasing con in the real game. in other words, if you put a +15 con tattoo, you will not receive any actual protection from disarm (if it really exists) since the land rate for the skill is very high, while the increase in con, as compared tothat of the test, is insignificant.

hello guys, good job on all those experiments.
however i think that this one fails a bit, it is known for years since gracia chronicle, or since earlier, that the base stat resisting disarming skills has been str.
    please re-test against 100, 150, 199 str.

    thank you.

it's not really a request since i do not need to know that.
i just thought that the test creators would like to do it right this time (that is, if str still modifies the disarm resistance, if it doesn't, accept my apologies).

    do as you wish,
    regards.
