"furthermore, the researchers gives no clues about actually reading back the data at rates that can be compared to those new writing speeds."

16 gb ram, 8x5.2ghz cpu, 2x gtx 560 sli was not enough for smooth 1st gludio siege
lets all get pcs for 10000$ to play smoothly!!!

of course u have - but on lowest details bro.

i have core i5 4x@5 ghz, 2xgtx 580 sli, ssd on pcix16, 16 gb ram - and i cannot afford full details (which means hdrendering a + all juices) during siege. i have to lower graphic details to affort no delay. when i switch to lowest details - ok there are no lags and fps are 60 + ok, but who would play that game on the lowest ffs ><

to those that have 16gb ram... did u try to create ramdisk that will fit l2? in net they are saying that it has 5gb write/read performance... it is much better then any ssd drive so i am curious if it works well ^^

heard it works perfect but u have to copy all the files to that space all the time after system restart. and yea the improvement is enormous - but still - during cs u have lags ;] so there is no point for me to do that cuz i play full details + juices all the time besides cs.

l2 dosent support multi core, so dosent mather if u have 1 or 10.
it only mathers on the raw power on single core.

    cpu

it looks completely the same for players with same pc config just without ssd drive
so if ssd makes a difference - its minimal

fps values i gave are when everything is loaded up (1sec with ssd)
fast drive (ssd for example) decreases loading time of things.
    loading decreases performance (fpss drops).
faster things are loaded = fps do not drop that much.
when everything is loaded and situation is stabilized there should be no difference between ssd and old hdd.

    ssd increases performance indirectly.

its super effective in l2 because it loads alot of things...

there is no doubt ssd is a must for smooth gameplay.

too bad even with that i cannot get decent framerate like in every other game!

looks like main factor in l2 performance is speed of single cpu.
i have 3.8 and am dissapoint.
admiral have 5 (!) and achive performance i wish to have.....

too bad i dont know how to achive such high clock nor is it possible to buy such in a shop.
    :'(
