i have no clue, im not expert for pc :d i just told my personal experiences, for me and my pc cpu was important part for increasing fps, not ssd..

 

theorical bus speed is first line, ~ real is second :

usb 3.0
4800mbps
600 mbps

usb 2.0
480mbps divided by 2
240mbps or 30mbps

sata 3
6000mbps each way
750 mbps each way

sata 2
3000mbps each way
375 mbps each way

 

you will need an usb3.0 compliant case and the drive, then youre all set.

if youre buying some bundled stuff check if its usb3.0 compliant.

 

my fraps looks better if you use 3.0!

 

what you need is an intel sandybridge or newer cpu at 4,5ghz to run this game satisfyingly smooth at low settings. i5 should do it, i7's hyperthreading won't help you a single bit with this olderthanmygrandma game engine. the graphics card won't help much either. i'm not saying you should play it with a voodoo card, but you don't need a gtx 780/r9 290x for it. ofc you need a quality ssd aswell, something like a samsung 840 evo or pro.
