i will try it next month by buying a new ssd for my crappy laptop, and then compare it with my desktop pc. i think that "weird graphic card" you mean, is a integrated one?, and also, how many ram on laptop? :d
pc for same price as ur laptop will always perform better btw maybe i am wrong, but ssd disc wont give u fps boost, only loading times and player/npc appearance will be faster. loadings/relogs anywhere take 1-2secs anywhere with ssd, i posted my specs on the 1st page, my pc isnt anywhere near to be called top class, but i think it is decent one and i still get only 11-13 fps on aden stairs with max visibility+high details. + my pc is almost dust free ( i bought http://www.amazon.com/metro-vacuum-...e=utf8&qid=1390687601&sr=8-1&keywords=datavac + i had buy transformer cause i bought usa model and they have only 120v in their plugs qq ) and 3 months fresh win 8.1 install
i wanted the laptop obviously for something else as well. something that cannot be done with desktop ^^. i know that with the same price i could have bought a desktop with better results in lineage 2, but this game is not everything i do.
today i tried running on sieges at aden, totaly unplayble fps wise, i didnt run fraps but my guess is i was below 10fps on both max visibility/alt+p , alt+p was fine till tons of people got into the range and became visible for me, 10fps max, pls halp, isnt there some quadcore optimizer software or something that could help me get more fps ? my pc isnt that bad i think
yah same for my country (laptop cost like 50% with a similar hardware). but in my particular case im asking cuz i can play at work, wich at the same time when im working is the "prime time" on server.
i have 32gb ram and using this sw for ramdisk http://www.superspeed.com/desktop/ramdisk.php (ram disk plus) you need pay for it..but its great sw. every restart / turn off pc / your ram disk with l2 stay
lineage relays on cpu because by the poorly coded game it uses only 32mb of the graphic card ram so if you have more than that they go to waste even though early on after god you still could've changed it in l2.ini even though they said it would be "against the rules" sure to increase ****y game performance is punishable... so they changed l2.ini code now to some random **** so you cannot modify it. but for koreans this thing is optimized to use the maximum of it kinda strange considering we play the same game... anyway i dont believe that i5 4670k @ 4.5 cannot run the game at lowest settings during mass events with maximum display limit. i start to believe that this thing occuried after valiance and its not only me who is complaining about poor game performance or the innova just switched server hardware as you can notice that every day during mass events when a lot of people are in on spot server npc start lagging... and it wouldnt be the first time fps issue is caused by the company happned in past...
yday i've launched l2 on virtual machine with 128mb video and it was not playable. cpu and ram was enough... so think this over again it's the same like in game - small thing calculates into big advantage.
