That's the point, bugs happen every now and then, so have to react on them. You were supposed to do something as soon as you saw he's visually bugged(running towards the wall and not moving).

I didn't want to brag about it but I had same situation versus 21stcentury and I reacted on it(I used dispa and I was right, he was next to me, I could hit him).

 

Some ppl from all sides of the server are pretty aware of some actions that can cause those bugs to occur and even then they are doing same actions again and again with hope or with sure they will take the advantage of a particular bug.
