NCSOFT will open a classic server

that is a fallacy. you can assume than the number of accounts would be 4k, but ofc this is not the reallity. innova is finding out whats the potencial population of a eu l2c server, and they are problably working with real numbers.

i cannot imagine how open a l2c server in eu coudnt be profitable for innova, they have the game developed and working on others regions, they just have to translate and get the server infrastructure, and with the hype around this probably the population in the opening would be very high, maybe on long term the server would got empty, in this case the only thing that innova have to do is close it , or maybe the population of the server would keep on a good number and innova would get profits for a long time.

 

ptp is more better than ftp, but someone doesnt understand this or has lot of money and prefer to buy a lot items in l2store and be proud how good he/she is. ,,endless grind fest" go back to your perfect god (85 - 1 day , 99 - 1 month (max)). yea thats so good game... . you didnt play any old chronickles, i can told that because you dont know how looks farming in c1,c2 ... . go back to your beautifull core where be less and less player every day and they will close this lol serv.

 

about p2p > f2p its enough to say that 2 biggest clans from ru god (roa/am) decided to leave god and play classic since its more fair for players.

 

the problem those days is that there is not enough news about this project , and nervousness is appearing more and more in the forum and other forums in different languages , i suggest for l2 classic believers and people who are browsing this thread and waiting for news, to ignore post of haters and not touch each fish on the rod which is served here and make fun for them.

i completely agree. there's no unity in god. people just log in to do their dailies, and they log back out. when people have to grind to get things done, they have to group up to keep it from getting boring, and they stay in that group for hours, and chat. this is why i play l2. the e-social aspect, which is close to nonexistant in god+. somewhere along the line, lineage 2 lost its 'soul'. you can really feel the difference when you try classic. like a soda having lost it's fizz, and all of a sudden, the fizz is back and you think 'wow! i'd forgotten how it was supposed to feel!"

this is why i play lineage 2 classic ru, even though the npc's speak russian and 90% of the russians do not speak english. they are very friendly and curious as to why i play there, though. seems they're not aware of the fact that there is no english classic.

if we all played on the russian servers, the russians there would get annoyed and frustrated with us (just like the koreans were frustrated with all the russians on their servers), and they would complain to innova about it, giving them an incentive to give us our own classic server. just a tip. =)

another thing we could do, though; their smallest server maphr has like a population of 1100 people. if we all went there, we could totally take the server and seize it as our own. =p

 

i completely agree! it would appeal to a bit more mature player base as well.

 

good luck fighting against at least 500 hardcore russians. if they prove anything in their history is that they're resilient and pragmatic. i would fight or go against any other nationality but russians

 

ah.. good point. i haven't thought about that. i only fight with people and not against them as i don't really like pvp.

..but of course, i get your view. it's logical to be scared of fighting someone who dedicates their entire existence into perfecting their gameplay.

unfortunately the most peeps that kept playing lineage 2 are only focused on certain aspects of the game rather than it as a whole.

nobody cares about the lore, characters, locations, quests or even experimenting with "common knowledge" everything is set and should be done in a single way, no exceptions.

i too feel kinda sad with the decisions that were taken in god's development but they're for the better when you think about pvp and mechanics, everything else was just a bad call.

i've been trying to play this game for fun for a while, having my character as my representation in that world, without dual boxing, being in-character with my backstory and just straight out calling out people for refering to everything in alien terms(i asked if you're ready! not plus!)... it's a lot of fun but kinda saddening since i'm usually the only one that seems to care about it.

meh, rpers left this game long ago, permareds are gone, there's only one way to play this game and playing it with a different mindset will get other people insulting you. this game is truly my nostalgic disease, i would've abandoned it long ago if it didn't set the standards of what to look for in a fantasy world during my childhood...

i think if they open classic server it will be f2p model there are several reasons for that.
l2 is much unpopular in eu community and even more unpopular with p2p model and even more unpopular with 0.6 rates
if we look at the russian servers we will see that there are four servers and only one gran kain reaches 98 % of maximum online shillien and eva together has less people than gran kain at peak time but all of them had maximum online in first two weeks .
we all know that russians are most hardcore players but even they cannot handle this rates

from what i'm understanding you mean that you need more time to evaluate if the income from the russian server is worth keeping the servers open (+ support and all that). if that's the case, then i assume you know the period that you're planning on waiting. so which is, 3 months? 6 months?

if that's not the case, then all your estimations are based on pure air . it's already been proven that russian people behave differently than korean people, and european / na people are a whole different beast. what happened in russia / kore won't be replicable in an eu server. an eu server will have it's own dynamic, although my best hopes are that you'll manage to keep bots under control properly.

either way, you could let us know how much time do you need to make said estimations, since clearly one of the factors that determine any estimation is time. unless it's the koreans making the estimations, which would mostly mean a dead end to the server.

imho, the best way to estimate interest towards an eu classic server, would be a "petition" like system, where those interested would come and sign on it. keep that running / advertise for 1 month so that people find out about it, and then you can probably count on 30% (own estimations based on my trial of ru classic server) of that amount as actual players per month.

 

i play on l2 many time in many chronicles and best fun was on priv server on c3 but it was fresh for me and i had many time, and i explore world... now i know many and exploring world not give me satisfaction, i dont like in the old chronicle so many support chars, so low exp rate, so low drop rate, then i can say only for l2 classic. good luck.

 

for you its so low exp .... for us god is so fast and much more disandventage but this is in earlier posts. so low exp? there is max 75 you need about 3-4 moth to do it and at c1god you need the same time to get 99 at it is not so low? thats the same just at classic you have more fun (more pvp group raids and fun of game)
