NCSOFT will open a classic server

we should have followed that unofficial petition of a random player? any of the estimations are based on how many people signed that third party site?

this decision takes forever. so much hesitation. at the end it wont happen. sad.

since a monthly subscription model does not seem to be profitable enough maybe we need some kind of a kickstarter/donation campaign? but i'm afraid nobody is willing to show us the real numbers needed to maintain a classic server.

question is if we really need to convince you that we want to play classic. do you want to provide it for us? so do smtn ... what innova eu will loose if you open this for us? that is the real question :-( ...

 

wtf you talk about :d when core started it was first p2w, sorry f2p server and online for first weeks was so huge they opened another server just to put ppl there for some time and merge it later, than ppl didnt like the first barbarian god which was very very bad + 1 month no shots event... and after 3months you had online of avarge private server... but i have to admit that start online was impresing.

and about classic and 40k views pl topic, 95% ppl from there playing already on ru classic and only few ppl asking/waiting for eu and every one who actaully want to play l2c should go to only one server with future and where all stars play, gk

there is no eu community to start on such hardcore game, check gk streams/fraps, you can see there ppl who you saw on frapses like 5+ years ago and they are with the same ppl in party. and eu? on core you just got random parties who change members every month to keep playing, such parties wouldnt survive a week on classic or actaully any server from 0. anyway i think they know that 1.5k core players are not even a 10% of international community and they should make some poll and check if players from privs are interested in eu classic.

 

i do not think those signs are a good reflect of what people want about it,. btw i have to say there are a big spanish site about l2 (dragones negros) following this notice too.
could help a beta week of the server, maybe you could have a better view about how many people are interested

 

take in consideration that the majority of "possible classic playerbase" is not in these forums. hell they may not even know about l2 classic servers in korea and russia. most of that players are people who assumed that l2 died and are sad about it, or they simply wander around private servers. a poll in a forum or a petition in change.org is not the proper way. try with a communication campaign, helped by us the players. a "hey guys do you remember those glory days of the past in l2? guess what, they're back!" in social media works better than a "well hey, raise your hands those who are willing to play classic" in a goddess of destruction forum.

hey everyone!

just wanted to post and say that i used to play on the north american server erica from beta- c2. everyone i have kept in touch with from the past l2 days would love to see a classic server. a classic server would be wonderful not only for eu but i'm sure a lot of people from na, like myself, are eagerly awaiting to see this server open.

most of the time i lurk various l2 forums, including this one, but don't usually post. i came across the petition someone had posted and i did not sign, not because i don't want to see a classic server, but because it wasn't official. please consider the fact that many old l2 players may not even be aware of the classic server because they don't follow the game closely anymore.

i truly believe that the rebirth of lineage 2 will be a great success if introduced into the gaming community correctly and with precision. please innova, save us from the priv servers! give us a classic server to play on for years to come!

 

i agree with most of the comments here.. srsly? taking somekind of random pettition made by god knows who as anything? even mentioning it pisses me off.. not even bothering to tell my friends to sign here...

yes take as much time u want.. ppl will for sure wait as long as you are doing your "calculation" ...
just say yes or no so we can actually start waiting for something real not for your previously metioned calculations... in case u r not going to open eu i would like to try ru classic, i am expecting getting sick with cyrilic within one month anyway but still want to try and there is no point of joining here after 10 month from release when you would finally decide..

and trust me.. over longer period of time doing "calculations" aka nothing will more ppl loose interest than gain one.. so ye, just keep doing it..

to cm onyx: i am sorry to be rude, but really, only somebody with low iq could think that such a petition could ever show how big the interest is. the petition was not advertised anywhere and it is unofficial, i saw the petition of that guy but i didn't care about it and i don't want to share my data with any petition-making company. really, what the hell you thought saying that the petition measures anything?

 

onyx please bring our messages to the innova staff. give to this project a chance.
i think that if you open one classic server, all ppl from eu and us will join it. yes, i know that classic l2 is an harder game than the actual ones, but around the world there are a lot of players who are still waiting for another hardcore gaming mmo expereience. and old l2 was one of them. probably the best.

that petition isn't a good statistic to use to get an idea of the interest in classic, that is some random guy on a forum posting a link to a petition he started, what do you expect?

if you want to extract conclusions from any poll, atleast bring the poll your self as inova company. announce it by mail to everyone registered in your database and put it in your social media like fb/twitter and your website. only then it would make any sense.

 

i just don't get the point why there is not even one answer of any gm/moderator for the past days/weeks....
this project can be good and with maybe the old lineage2 community...
many ppl will come for sure.

they're not interested in comunà­cate nothing. they prefer to be mute and told on 3 months; "no one on eu want now the classic". logic...

 

i strongly disbelieve that core staff can handle a project like l2 classic. i have a reasonable doubt that they have competent employees to pull out the necessary advertising and management. issues shown here are a proof that they cannot even communicate properly with their community.
you really need to hire skillful people and start collecting feedback from your community members.
get the files, announce it in every private or non-private mmo site and open a test server. provide a good service - 2 gms to assist people on shifts for example. make a forum section for this test server, inform constatly people ingame for its existance adn encourage them to share bugs and etc, collect feedback from test members for 1 or 2 weeks. analyze the results and go open prepaid service packs with a set date for launching classic project. do not delay it, be accurate for a first or second time and show that you know what proffesionalism means. put some shots event or something. execute it well and you shall get respect and money flow in return.

 

i think that as long as innova has the power to modify the drop nerf from 1/6 to at least something like 1/3, there is no question that at least 1 server will be full of ppl. even as hardcore as it's l2 classic now(with 1/6) i'm still willing to pay and play but i won't in any way go to the russian server, even with english patches and there many people like me.

srsly, it's stupid to think that there won't be l2 classic audience but you still keep core server on. i mean, if that ancient server still makes money, there is no doubt that a l2 classic will be a lot more lucrative.

i'm an na player from bartz from closed beta through c2. i find your stance on this situation to be strange. how exactly do you expect to be able to crunch numbers which will magically tell you how many people will play l2 classic in europe? i guarantee to you any data you're using or estimating is completely junk data.

most classic players, like me, quit l2 long ago. i only found out about this project from a reddit post on /r/gaming. like me most l2 players quit in c1, c2, c3. they exist on random forums and in random games and sometimes talk about the "good old days" of classic l2 like the first castle sieges in c1 or grinding in cruma castle. you have no way of quantifying the amount of these players who either exist or will be willing to come back to l2. business involves risk. there is no way you will make this decision risk free for guaranteed income. either do it or don't.

if you use social media properly and market this server you will probably need to make 2 or 3 of them from the hordes of people who come swarming back to l2. but your stance on this project makes me doubt your competency. please message me directly if you would like further input as i believe you are way off on what you perceive to be ambiguous interest in classic l2. the interest has always been there. the problem is that ncsoft never banned bots or chinese farmers and slowly killed l2 with ****ty updates. otherwise l2 would have stayed popular for a really long time.

 

c1 is a grind festival , but c2 toi and c3 loa ,c4 ketra varka fog will brings a tons of people back , so if you're having doubts with population on your servers are russian have 10:30 ru time http://****.net/ 2x1500 , 1x3500 , 1x500

this project of l2 is beneficial from all sides not much for beginning c1 it's just survival mode but later in next epilogues it will be a winner strike
