Need halp, old player, update fail!

so i decided to get on my old acc, haven't play like a year or so. i'm still using my old laptop, didn't even uninstall all this time... but heres the problem. like old times on https://eu.4game.com/lineage2/play/ i press button update (previously update 4game client) and heres what happens - it shows updating, downloads files, patching, but somewhere around 62 percents it just stops. well stops is not the right word for it, it ******* crashes my system, literally, screen freezes and i cant even rr my laptop (have to pull out power cord). this never happened with any other game before. any idea whats wrong? i used to play with same laptop/system all the time (vista hp sp2).
