Scammers exploit

so, what's with the shops that are buying stuff but don't have adena to buy the items? i didn't get scammed because so obvious things are usually a scam, but either way, these people should be banned because they are exploiting a bug and set a selling shop with x item for 500k and a buying shop with that x item for 1kk when they don't have adena for it.

 

not possible. if you want to buy something you have to pay the adena before you start the shop. and when you cancel the shop you get your adena back. you get scammed the normal way.

 

are you talking about mammon's enhanced varnish scam maybe?
one player in town sell one for like 500k and the other (his alt) buys it for 3m but even so you cant sell it to him. this "exploit" or "scam" is caused by few items of the same name but different picture. lets say that seller is offering varnish a and the buyer only buys varnish b. since you don't have varnish b you cant tell the picture since its covered by red layer. i saw someone do that in giran... i didn't fall for it since the deal looked to good to be true and they were sitting right next to each other xd but many ppl fell for it.

 

not possible? go rune on core and check it by yourself, a dwarf buying hundreds of moonstones for like 25k each but when u try to sell him 1 it says not enough adena, the same goes for the spirit beads from the quest, he has them on 1.5kk and the same msg appears, not enough adena.
so yeah, a bug exploit does exist and these people should be banned and ban aswell their related accounts. there are like 2-3 shops around rune selling moonstones and spirit beads a bit cheaper and then that dwarf with the "no adena" bug exploit buying it for higher price.

this bug includes pets yes.
its well known bug, it exists since we had pets at l2.

 

well, being known bug doesn't mean they should allow people to use it, that's an huge scam trick and shouldn't be allowed, because any buying shop could be fake by that meaning.

that's my point, scamming and exploiting are 2 different things, and if scamming includes an exploit then it should be banned, there is no reason to allow this.

 

scamming should never be punished... why ? because if you are so ****** to got scammed you shouldn't play l2 ;]

just look closely at everything you want to buy

when setting a private store, transfer ur adena to pet
u will be able to set "buy" shop but u wont be able to buy anything bcuz ur adena is on pet, not in ur inventory

altough scamming is allowed that way to scam ppl shouldnt, because it's an exploit. imo.
