VC++ Redistributable does not install properly

tgm_silver: vc++ issue is marked as a major bug, fix is expected soon.

developers of the 4game app don't include correct version of microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable package (x86).

latest version is microsoft visual c++ 2010 sp1 redistributable package (x86)


1 step: delete from computer old version of vc++.
- control panel, programs and features
- find this line:


deinstall this programm.

2 step: press "install". wait for enable button "next".




step 3: install the latest version

this is sp1.

if you see this version of vc++ 2008, delete this too

after clicking "install" you need to wait 1-2 minutes.

 

i just logged in to say that this works and i have to thank voldemort, really good job =)

 

i did what you wrote and still can't install the game, i have no idea what to do.

i guess i'll reinstall the sp1 version again until more info comes.

edit: damnit. when i tried reinstalling the sp1 version it says i already have a newer version on my computer already. do i need to restart the comp or something?

edit2: i removed the last c++ 2010 as well and it worked after that. thanks for the tip.

uninstall all old microsoft visual c++ 2010 absolute all. for me works 100%

 

funny thing is the new update show me an error that i had the 2010 and 2008 and updater wanted to install the 2010 version!

i tried your way but game client still don't want download and i don't see any icon on https://eu.4game.com/lineage2/install/ site only lonely dwarf :/
he's printscreen of my programs and features


i don't have firewall, only nat. i can log on router and open some ports but i don't know numbers.
4game download klient don't show any internet activity.
i have win xp sp3. i try 3 different web browsers. i clean registry and browser cache with ccleaner.
i don't know what to do more...

i uninstall everything 4game and vc++, then reboot pc. do what voldemort wrote and reboot pc again i it start downloading :d

uninstalled absolutely everything - 4game, lineage2, all installations of ms visual c++ from 2005 to 2010, used ccleaner to clean the registry, used microsoft uninstaller to remove all those microsoft_vc80/90 things which are related to ms visual as well, even used a specially made microsoft visual c++ uninstaller. also downloaded the updated 4game installer which someone on the forum posted a link to, and it goes ok up to the point where it installs ms visual c++ 2008. after it installs 2008, it tries to install 2010 and i get this error:

"a newer version of microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable has been detected on the machine."

i obviously don't have 2010, so i'm guessing it falsely detects 2008 which 4game just installed as 2010, lol. impossible to continue the installation until this is resolved. :/

 

i uninstalled all ms visual c++ shiz, i uninstalled 4game, i used ccleaner to clean the registry and when i try to run the installer it installs 2010 ms visual c++ 2010 without any problems, but when it starts to install the 2008 version, i get an "error 1935. an error occured during the installation of assembly" and when the server was beta.. i had absolutely no problem installing it.. any ideas? t_t

 

using this registry fix and install/uninstall microsoft tool to uninstall previous installations of ms visual c++ properly fixed my problem:

when you run it, select "detect problems and let me select fixes to apply" instead of the other recommended option. then it asks you to check for either install or uninstall issues, select uninstall and use that to uninstall the problematic instance of ms visual c++, and then try to run the 4game installer again.

 

if i get another. i was with microsoft visual c + + 2010 x86 redistributable - 10.0.40219 after delete it and started lineage3eu-4game he installed the previous version of microsoft visual c + + 2010 x86 redistributable 10.0.30319

hey guys,

i have encountered such a problem which is really annoying.

whenever i'm trying to install the 4game launcher it gives me this:




whether i choose "yes to all" or "no to all" does not make the difference to the final thing:





as it says skipping and it stays like that for ever. i've waited for a really long time and nothing changed.

i've read all the posts here, tried to remove vc++ 2010 and vc++ 2008 endind 4149 (or something similiar) - it didn't help, then removed all the vc++, restarted pc, tried installing again - nothing changed - gives the same problem.

i know that i am not the only one that encountered this problem, some of my friends have as well and nothing helped.

does anyone know how to fix this? thanks in advance.
